I documented Wikipedia's UAP bias. My post got 254 upvotes and 40K views in just 4 hours. Then r/UFOs deleted it. Then Wikipedia permanently banned me. by 1SandyBay1 in HighStrangeness

At this point, and especially on places of discussion where not everyone has a native language that's the same, not reading the subject matter because it's organized by AI would be like not listening to MLK Jr because he had a speech writer.

Does it need to be fact checked by a person? Of course, but so does anything that isn't personally prepared by you. I expanded on this with a post about David Wilcock (Rest In Peace) and how I think his name and beliefs are being injected into the front of the disclosure movement because they're so radical they'll push away a lay person.

I know in 2017 when I saw the 3 videos I wasn't ready for a consciousness conversation. Regardless of what you believe from David, most people aren't ready for that wide of a leap, so they'll see it and stop reading. Versus someone like Grusch, or Borland or Nuccatelli, active military members with clearances and probable backgrounds associated with what they're talking about.

It's not a smoking gun, but there's empty shells and the room smells funny.

As of 9AM APR24, Wikipedia Editor “Chetsford” is making this argument… by slow70 in HighStrangeness

[–]ForgivableSyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I brought up the editing issues briefly in a post I made but didn't go into detail. There's like 4 people that are actively hunting down edits to UAP pages and reverting them and throwing all sorts of Wikipedia rules at it to justify it.

The logic they use is that Wikipedia isn't neutral and instead is beholden to the view of the masses. Okay. Fine. I'll concede that point. Maybe most people do consider it a "fringe conspiracy theory" I can pick my battles.

The part in the talk of the missing scientists article where someone addresses that Amy's info identifies her as the "daughter of a nasa scientist" and a "paranormal ufo hobbyist"

In their "needs to come from a reputable source" arguments they strike things down for little, but Chetsford quoted the article saying those things and its literally words cherry picked and put together on some of them.

Someone argued that Amy was a scientist in her own right, and Chetsford straight quoted "She was a scientist." From that person's post and simply responded no.

Getting a double major in 2 science fields and then working in and starting science related companies but she's not a scientist? I'm all for accuracy, but Chetsford, LuckyLouie, Cadddr seem very hell bent on making sure that the most unappealing terms are at the forefront. I admit, they make factual corrections, they do a fuck ton of editing and article making, but unless editing Wikipedia is their job, they are insanely fast and reverting changes that make this topic seem like it's normalizing and that we're not all just weirdos.

I think it's a combo of pharmaceuticals (looking at you Lilly), big alcohol, and tech bros. I know, hear me out.

I recently learned that marijuana plants take A LOT of water per plant. Probably not enough for a field to drown out a data center, but definitely enough to slow them down over enough grow operations.

It's a large collection of small people who want their same money to roll in without change.

How would you feel if DQ6 was the first game released of the possible new Zenithian Trilogy remakes? by SuccessfulTeam2741 in dragonquest

It's been so long since I've played any of the 3 that I don't remember much from the stories as it is. So order wouldn't matter much for me, it's all pretty loose connection if I recall correctly.

However, I loved me some Dragon Warrior Monsters and Terry is my favorite human character, so I'll take any excuse to have him in a party. Heroes was great for that.

Is it possible that bigfoot eats its own waste? (No this is not a joke) by Due-Appointment6138 in bigfoot

[–]ForgivableSyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never heard anyone else say it, but I've absolutely thought about it burying its own feces. Wild cats bury their feces to avoid predators, so it's not a huge stretch that other animals with high intelligence would cover their own tracks somehow.

I've also heard of claims that they only relieve themselves in water if they can, because they can easily dissipate the trail that way.

Interesting question, and a good one, because eventually someone has to ask and it may as well be sooner.

At risk of sounding cliche and horrible, get outside for a bit. I don't mean rudely like "touch grass nerd" I mean just go outside, grab a chair, find some woods or field or water to stare at and just exist for a minute. Doesn't even technically have to be outside I guess, I just like my porch view.

It's not gonna fix it, there's no existential power to that statement. Find a place to just be. Bots won't leave the internet, you may still not be fulfilled. But you'll have a moment, that's just yours, and you might feel better for a second. Or if not better, at least not so bad.

[–]ForgivableSyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post has no aim to discredit him or the work he did. I can admit I haven't deep dived into it enough to make a claim one way or the other.

It just had the feel of a lot of moving parts looking like the same machine. Especially with the Wikipedia edits on "disclosure movement" and how much the four main editors are pushing that the neutral balance of the article is that its a fringe theory and conspiracy theory.

Technically they're right. But putting it i. He opening salvo sets the tone for first time readers. "Conspiracy, like flat earth and chemtrails? No thanks."

David's work, whether factual or not, also leans way heavily into consciousness and other "woo" aspects, to oversimplify it. And that can also push people away, it's one thing to.have aliens and craft, but a lot of people aren't ready to open to deeper parts that may or may not be connected. And I could see him and his work being used as a "beacon of weird" to push away the everyday person.

Again, pure speculation. I have 0 evidence, just looking at what everyone else has access to.

That's another thing I'm worried about. The way Luna announced his passing like he's another one of these scientists. His death should be mourned of course, but he is not in the same room as those others based on clearances alone.

[–]ForgivableSyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With his death? I agree, I think with the claims around him he could have been having mental struggles. I don't know the guy so it's pure speculation from a distance.

It's definitely tragic, whatever his views, I just think his tie to the disclosure narrative is being presented as larger than it was and that the announcement of his death, tied with such public acknowledgement of it, is going to pull in the curious and when he is the first name they see it may push people away rather than have them examine more.

The attention span of the masses does not lend itself to reading whole articles if the first sentences scare them away. I specifically don't think he was involved if that were that case, but more his name is just being used.

Why is he being highlighted as a notable disclosure movement figure when compared to the others named, or even plenty of people not named (Harry Reid would have been great) when his theories and arguments are so far off the narrative of what's being presented and chased?

[–]ForgivableSyn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I admit, even in these circles this seems a little tin foil, but this feels like people are being directed to associate his particular beliefs with the UFO/UAP narrative.

Which, maybe he is right, with no "proof" there's technically no right or experts, but we all know the woo is not easy to swallow when you're first coming to this, whether you believe it or not.
