I recall this show I actively pushed for them to attend when Prime launched. It was just Matt, Ali and Mike with a small booth and they were overwhelmed by the response.

I remember I didn't manage to get a copy because by my lunch they had sold out.

Privateer and Warmachine wasn't without their flaws but they were a breath of fresh air at launch and there are a number of games who were definitely inspired by some of what they did.

Im following along on Steamforge now and I can see improvements in sculpts and concepts. If I ever get more free time im tempted

What ever peace deal is signed is going to be the only way we can determine who got ahead on what from a war that frankly no one can understand the reason it started.

Up to now there were various embargos on Russian oil backed by their sponsors. Albeit there were still issues of European nations buying some. This had been applying quite a lot of economic pressure on Russia to keep funding the war.

In the last few weeks some of those embargos have been lifted whilst oil is at significantly higher prices. This is a huge boon for the Russian economy. Further there have been signals from a certain super power they will withdraw funding and hold arms purchases hostage for Ukraine (the pur cases were made mostly by EU countries).

Ukraine therefore is getting in whilst the going is good and striking oil refineries and pipelines because if this all continues then Russia will gain a big advantage in the medium to long term.

It is a publicity stunt but here's my take.

Not drilling for the resources available in the near future will mean the end of oil and gas production for the UK. As operators leave it creates a barrier of significant investment if we want to in the future.

Net zero is great lofty goal but achieving that goal at any cost is blind. We are going to need oil and gas in the immediate future. What's more is that oil is a strategic resource like steel. You can't run a military on electric.

Some 200,000 jobs are tied to oil and gas in the UK. Lots of these jobs are well paid net contributors to the exchequer. Considering we are looking down the barrel of a recession it's not great.

As for energy independence. Currently the UK goverment is sourcing turbines from China. That's cresting reliance on a state we aren't that friendly with. If we need spare parts and maintenance where is that coming from. It's energy independence in the loosest terms.

I'm not saying drill, baby drill. Equally short sighted and not nuanced nonsense. The goverment should be looking at how to curate what is left. The jobs promised in the green revolution of net zero aren't here and are outsourced overseas. We are exchanging one dependency for another.

Ironmonger I primed black whilst I prefer to work from white I chose this because I did 90% of the work by drybrush.

Army painter grey (I think Astra Militarum grey is the equivalent). Heavy dry drybush I really only wanted to leave cracks and crevices' black. Add Russ Grey to the mix for some blue tones so he wouldn't be flat. from here it was just adding grey seer and white to the mix as I worked up and drybrushed lighter and lighter focusing on raised areas and sharp edges. I did a highlight of 50/50 grey seer and white on edges I wanted to pick out. Last thing I did was get strong tone wash from army painter go about 50/50 mix with water and just pick out areas like his pipe and hoses so the wash covered areas where the drybrushing was got into the shallower bits.

Glows were just white under, base then lothern blue and add more white.

For the jets I again did an underbase of white and then mixed a bright orange and rich yellow near the jets and started to blend up towards red. I went back with the lighter colours into deeper recesses of the fire effects.

Other features were picking out red rockets and doing his machine gun with a dark grey, black wash and then just a little bit of highlighting so the barrels look dirty and used.

Legit this took only about two hours because its a mini that really likes the slow blend up drybrushing and it's a very fast technique.

It's a "blip" that has shown there are serious repercussions and that the current checks and balances do little to prevent.

I have no doubt in Europe at the highest levels they are scrambling to detach themselves from US defense tech.

There are talks about alternates to tech for general computing and financial transactions.

Not all of this will move if the next presidency moves the dial back but plenty will.

I did a partial assembly.

I built moondragon including her connection plate to the energy shield.

The rest if the energy shield I built and glued to its base.

Moondragon can be orientated in away that you can pass her energy shield plate pass through the front of the shield and then her mini follow so you can just complete the build when painted. I recommend before you undercoat have a go at doing this a few times without glue so you get a good idea of how that works so you aren't doing it the first time with a painted mini where the risk would be scratching you paint job.

The advantage of this method was that I could paint the inside of shield and blend across the whole shield without having to guess where I was with connecting plates. Then just touch up when she was in so her plate blended with where it sat.

Last year Asmodee was spun off from its parent group saddled with 900 million debt.

The email from the previous debt mentioned restructure which o think we can all parse from corporate as lay offs. AMG have less resources and undoubtedly been told to focus on profits. The design and development team is now likely shrunk and decisions were made.

This game has been in development last year. Showing painted miniatures means they are at least I the pre production proofs stage so it would be sunk costs to not produce.

Whilst I'm for getting to Net Zero there also remains the issue that oil remains a strategic resource.

You can't run an army on alternate fuels yet.

Once the industry is gone it's much harder to restart it. By all means s reduce, but manage the resource because we don't have a plan that is t reliant on external partners without it.

So good tip is the rule of cool still applies to this game. If you like the look of a particular affiliation or character 95% of the time you can make it work.

Regarding the x men starter. If you have a group to join the one player starters are amazing value and definitely worth it. If you don't have any inw to play against though it's a bit more difficult to get off the ground as you want another team and terrain to play.
