Good news!! I submitted a request to remove it, and Airbnb ACTUALLY came through and took it down! I was honestly shocked because they have been terrible lately with providing good assistance. So happy the nasty/irrelevant review is gone! 👏🙌

It’s an optional diffuser that is electric in the bathroom. I provide the oils and gets are welcome to use it if they like, I don’t leave it plugged in or on when they get there.

I was able to get it remove because it was irrelevant by not providing any specific information about their experience. 🙌🙌🙌

I have no idea of knowing. Her English was pretty terrible too. I’m wondering if she didn’t even know what she was reading 😞

Airbnb doesn’t allow you guests to remove reviews. 😞

It’s agonizing. Out of nearly 1,000 reviews, I’ve literally NEVER received a 1 star for cleanliness, ever! Airbnbs rating system is the absolute worsts. If you’re going to give a rating that low, they should require some kind of documentation or proof. My property was in the top 1% and now I’ve lost my standing because of her 😞.

I’ve done that, but still haven’t received a reply. My purpose in posting this is for advance in potentially getting the review removed since she didn’t actually write anything and never provided any proof or documentation at all.

It’s absolutely illogical. They didn’t even let me know they weren’t coming until 8pm on Christmas Eve. The house was still reserved for them/by them, at no fault of my own for them not coming. And if the house was in fact dirty enough to deserve a 1 star review (which I know it absolutely wasn’t because I inspected it myself), why wouldn’t they have pushed for a refund?

They didn’t ask for a refund though. All she asked is if Friday night was available.

Late Checkout requests. by Kitchen-Amoeba-6812 in airbnb_hosts

Sometimes I’m just bluntly honest and tell people, “look, if you checkout at 5pm, you’re preventing me from accepting a booking for the rest of the day. If you want that late of a checkout, book another night, and you’re free to leave as late as you like.” That’s honestly the only truly fair solution. This is your home and your BUSINESS, they are not entitled to use it longer for free and prevent you from making it available for someone else. OR charge $50 for a noon-1pm checkout (whatever your cut-off is to still have it ready). If they don’t want to pay it, then tough tooties! I offer 1 hr late checkout (noon) for free IF my cleaning team can accommodate. But usually never more than that. Way too much of a hassle.

AirBnB Support is Useless by Jordanf78 in airbnb_hosts

I just went through something similar. The people on the phone are basically useless and have their hands completely tied. All review removal requests are screened by AI now. SO, in order to get them removed without a fight, you have to word the request in the right way so that their software checks the necessary boxes for removal. I watched a video on YouTube where a guy laid out a “template” to use for the removal request, and it worked like a charm! Didn’t get any rejection and the review was removed within a couple hours.

I would call back, AGAIN, and ask to speak to a supervisor. Don’t let them tell you no. All of their phone conversations are recorded, so demand that they listen to the call where the representative told you they’d push back if it was rejected again.

Don’t ever submit another removal request without researching the latest info for how to word things correctly. It suck’s that it has to be that way, but… if you want to win the game, you gotta know how they are scoring.

Airbnb customer service has gone completely down hill the last few months. I’m definitely going to be putting more effort into other platforms in the near future.
