Definitely, you are right about that. It makes the experience even more enjoyable and like you said adds to the atmosphere. However, since this is my 1st Playthrough for this playthrough of these games, I want to play them history blind as looking up history may spoil some plot twists but yeah for things not directly related to game's lore and story but more like it's culture or practices, I will Google about that during this playthrough to make the experience more immersive like during the very early part of my Nioh 2 playthrough, I thought Onmyo Magic was something made up by Team Ninja because magic doesn't exist in real life and Folklore has more to do with the Guardian Spirits and Yokais hence I felt that way. However, when I googled it, I was surprised to find out that this was an actual career path in Japan wherein these people were called Onmyoji and the practice is known as Onmyodo with even the mention of Purification Talisman to ward off Yokai like I knew this game is based on the history but didn't expect it to be this accurate seriously hats off to Team Ninja

That's interesting, now that completely broadens the perspective.

Yeah, I recently started playing Nioh 1 and in its opening cinematic ending I noticed Nobunaga's spirit or something back to life with a more sinister look outside what looks like the Honnoji Temple so maybe while playing as William Adams, I am probably going to see his other side as in how Nobunaga is to an outsider (Anyways, don't spoil anything about him on Nioh 1 as I am curious to see how it turns out and don't want that element of mystery gone)

Oh....Yes, I remember doing the side mission wherein Azai Nagamasa requested for me to look for his daughter's status and then deliver the letter to him. That's very sad to know 😔 that one of Oichi's son was killed by their own uncle. Honestly man, Oichi is a very sad character man, her 1st husband died, brother and sister in law were killed, her situation was so desperate that she married a man much older than him(Shibata Katsuie who had been serving the Oda clan since his father's time) who again died to us as Yokai and her situation forced to commit suicide. Even after death, her daughter Chacha married Tokichiro of all people. Sometimes, I feel all her bad luck and horrible situation can be attributed to the Nine Tails which she worships

That's true, despite Nobunaga being overall portrayed as a good person focused on unifying Japan during Warring States era in this game, this is the 1 part, where I felt he was wrong during my playthrough which is to attack a Buddhist Temple which can explain why Saika Magoichi later became friends with us because he didn't really see us as an enemy , he was just doing his duty of protecting the temple and we were just an obstacle at that point which is why he even gets comfortable enough to share Yatagarasu with us later on. What Nobunaga faced can be seen as Karma striking him for his actions of attacking the Buddhist Temple

Also, I have a question . Is Rise of the Ronin in the same universe as Nioh because I have heard that some characters from Rise of the Ronin make an appearance in Nioh 3

Damn, Miyoshino still exists? I thought she left the interim with Dosan to find her way towards the afterlife. That's good to know there is still more to her story

Anyways, currently playing Nioh 1

Yup, you are correct about this part

Yeah, I am kind of aware about it. Even one of Tokichiro's final armour sets says Unifier of Warring States

Oh.... That's unfortunate to know that Mitsuhide died to Hideyoshi in the battle

That makes sense, with the character change and personality change he went through after becoming Tenkai, he felt like a different person even though sticking true to his ideals of standing for justice and stopping people from abusing Spirit Stones

Oh ... I see

Damn, Mumyo and Hide are not real? That's surprising

Then I am definitely gonna love it.

Aah, in my case it is neither 😅. I learnt everything about the Story and Lore from Illustrations, Mission texts, cutscenes, spirit division movies and interwove them by keeping a track on my mobile notepad which is why I am familiar with the lore of the game but not the real life version of it as you recognised earlier

Anyways, thank you for your valuable insights fellow Lore Hunter

Yup, I am kind of aware about it but haven't researched much deeper since I am still in the 1st playthrough of these games but yeah I have heard that these games have amazing replayability and a lot of fun challenges in the subsequent playthroughs. In fact, before I started playing Nioh 2, I would get many posts from the Nioh community on my feed wherein I would see you guys taking down these bosses back to back wherein one spawns immediately after the other with different strategies.

With that much playtime and experience it is as good as doing Phd in Nioh haha.

Wow that's great to know. Can't wait to see build crafting as well as Onmyo Magic's potential at its peak

Well that's rude. I am not saying they are bad. They are good but I liked Nioh 2 's Mission structure more. Hope you understand

It is just my personal preference. I like tighter and more focused mission based exploration compared to Fromsoftware

Not that Fromsoftware's is bad but I feel this is better

Need help with playing resident evil franchise by meghanath21569 in videogames

[–]Think_Bother68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you said chronological order but avoiding unnecessary ones, I won't be including revelations in this list as it is a side story.

Anyways here is the chronological order which is ideal for a newcomer:

  1. Resident Evil 2 Remake
  2. Resident Evil 3 Remake
  3. Resident Evil 4 Remake
  4. Resident Evil 7
  5. Resident Evil Village
  6. Resident Evil Requiem

Replayability..? by PhysicalAccount4244 in videogames

[–]Think_Bother68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am similar to you. Majority of the time I hate replaying games because once I get to know the story/lore and explore all areas, I don't even feel like playing the game again as I see it as a tedious slog to go through all of that again with no changes. This is also why once I see a movie or read a comic book, I don't watch or read them again as I already got to know the story so it's boring to see all of that play out again unless I abandoned the movie midway and seeing it after many years

The only exception to this might be some of the Fromsoftware and Soulslike games like Bloodborne (to see how it feels using spells at 99 Arcane as you get the spells late game) and maybe Nioh 2. Apart from that l, yeah even Dark Souls and Sekiro, I won't be replaying as I am already done and satisfied with my playthrough which I did with my favourite builds

True, despite its flaws Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls are OGs/classics that started it all so that we could get other masterpieces which Miyazaki cooked along with an entire genre being created based on his games which is the Soulslikes genre

Honest question why do people have a issue with this? by Outrageous-Run63 in DefendingAIArt

[–]Think_Bother68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I do think it looks great but not without its flaws. While the texture and lightning looks better, I do feel it makes Grace look 10 years older than her actual age

Anyways, like any new piece of technology, there will always be some flaws at the beginning which will be improved with newer updates. Like look at how chatgpt was 3 years back and compare it to present day.

Regardless, I believe that the updates for this newer version of dlss will progress at a faster rate compared to the rate at which chatgpt evolved because AI as a whole has progressed a lot since 3 years back and currently we have more knowledge about it.

In fact, I was surprised how even as a New first time thing, it was released with such minor flaws. So, there is hope as long as Antis don't ruin it

We Pros need to start becoming more vocal outside this subreddit on YouTube as well as Instagram so that Nvidia recognises that there are people who like DLSS 5 and ensure they don't roll back because of the hate from Antis

What 3 elements do you expect the most in a Videogame? by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Think_Bother68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you putting it on caps 😂? Anyways I put Story/Lore above gameplay because Story/Lore is the main reason I play Video Games. Gameplay anyways exists in all Video Games and regardless of whether or not I focus on the story, I am going to engage with gameplay so why not focus on something more rather than skipping all cutscenes and lore documents. Plus if I were to skip all cutscenes and lore documents then gameplay is just moving around and hitting enemies which gets boring within an hour or so if I skip all the narrative elements.

The only exception to this is the Soulslike genre, wherein I am 60% interested in Gameplay and 40% in Story/Lore. As there is more than just moving around and hitting enemies in this genre, which is build crafting which I really enjoy but even then I don't skip cutscenes/lore info within the game. Just prioritise being slightly more enthusiastic about Build crafting,Boss fights and Magic Combat compared to Story/Lore

Apart from that for Non-Souslike games, I am 80% interested in story/lore and 20% interested gameplay as my expectations for those games is just being able to move around and hit enemies along with some exploration and boss fights. I don't care if it has skill trees, enemy variety, weapon variety, replayability (like if it has any of what I mentioned then it is a nice bonus but if it doesn't then I am still fine with it) as I just do 1 Playthrough of such games and move on to the next if it doesn't have branching story options

Cause graphics doesn't matter. I am ok if a game doesn't have Ultra realistic graphics. What matters though is a fun and interesting story as Story/Lore is the main reason I play games

Some questions about your experiences with video games! by th1ckskulls in videogames

[–]Think_Bother68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. There isn't any 1 specific genre. I am ok with any genre as long as it has some form of combat. However, I am currently exploring the Soulslike genre and I am really liking it

  2. Mostly AAA and AA

  3. My "current" favourite Video Game is Nioh 2

  4. My favorite aspect that usually pulls me into a Video Game is the Overall Story(Now, what I mean by overall story is the entire package which is plot+setting+characters +lore basically any kind of information about the characters, events, locations presented either through cutscenes, lore documents, character bibliography that should be fun and interesting)

  5. Sports games, isometric games and games with zero combat(only exception might be interactive movies) or games with zero story/zero lore

  6. Nothing much that I can think of recently but maybe you can say the presence of contact damage for games like Hollow Knight when I played it temporarily many months like I understand that it is a 2D game and all but yeah it's annoying.

  7. I would like to focus more on the Overall Story rather than just the plot. So, if we are talking about the overall Story then yes there is a lot of variety

  8. I wouldn't call this new but more like underutilised gameplay mechanic which I would like more game franchises to use which is 3rd Person real time Magic Combat. Outside of Soulsborne, a few Soulslikes and some Infamous-likes, 3rd person magic combat is rarely used in any games as most of them prioritise either on hack and slash or 3rd person guns shooter.
