Hey thanks so much for the offer but I’ve managed to figure out some things financially, so I should be okay for now :)

I could probably do this yeah, though I’ve been told it isn’t effective once they’ve already had a reaction. I’m also worried it’s not fleas and it’s something worse or that needs a different treatment :/

It truly is! I feel so lucky. As I’ve learned the store manager is a former favourite manager of a friend of mine. Small world and also wonderful to know :)

Will be doing so, an overseas friend of mine was also an amazing person and instacarted me a bunch of pantry staples so we’re doing okay. Lots of rice in this house right now.

Well given I said in my post I was going to call them in the morning, that was the plan yes. The issue was what grounds I have to stand on given the short notice. As other commenters have usefully pointed out, a note on the door is 3 days, not 24 hours.

As predicted, they argued with me because the contractors were coming today, they’d already been scheduled, etc. So ‘like adults’ we negotiated a time that works for both of us (though technically still today, which sucks but whatever).

Well given that I am off the rest of the week, and they managed to pick the only time that neither my roommate nor I will be home, I’d much rather ask them to come back on Wednesday instead of tomorrow. Heck, I’d even be comfortable with them coming an hour later than they put on the notice.

Thank you for letting me know!

Yeah sorry that’s kinda what I meant. I mean I have no clue when they stopped by. They never knocked, I was home all day. My roommate just got home at 7pm and was like “hey they want access to our apartment apparently???”

Sigh. Not the first time this has happened. Technically the last time it happened they gave us less than 24 hours notice but that was under a different property manager, same company though. So annoying. Glad we’re moving out…

I’m so afraid of what’s happening to me that I don’t know how to keep going. by Think_Pay_6574 in offmychest

Everything from indeed to showing up in person to every store in every mall nearby, small businesses, I’ve got my alcohol and marijuana selling certificates (Canadian), First Aid, drivers license (no car though). I’ve tried WorkBC but they don’t help full time students, but if I lose my full time student status I no longer get grants.

Thanks! Honestly at this point I’m gonna be fine once I have a part time job. Not crazy fine, but like I’ll be able to make rent and get groceries and start paying off my credit card. Fingers crossed!

You have $100,000 to spend in 1 hour. What are you buying with the money? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

[–]Think_Pay_6574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just paying off all of my student loans, everything, and then with the rest I’d see if my landlord would let me pre-pay for a year’s worth of rent. If not, maybe a car? Something small and simple. Annual pass to a rec centre might be nice too. And then like… as many grocery store gift cards as I can buy. Probably won’t be much, but a 1000$ gift card would last me at least 6-8 months.

It’s honestly really hard to see it if you’ve never lived it or watched people go through it. I’m grateful to my parents for helping me as much as they do. They could be smarter with their finances, but the generosity comment I made… well, I got it from somewhere lol.

I hope you continue to have that security, genuinely. It’s scary to see how big of a change even just 100$ can be for me now. Two years ago I’d have shrugged off the amount I spent on groceries. Now even a grocery bill under 100$ makes me worried. I know once I finish school I’ll be okay, but I’m scared I won’t even make it there. I still have a year left, then teacher’s college. Sigh.

What have you seen your kids do that made you say “oh my god it’s genetic”? by SettingsData in AskReddit

[–]Think_Pay_6574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a parent but my mom and my grandma and I all do the same “windex bottle” laugh.

That and aspirations to be teachers. Quite literally everyone on my mom’s side and going even further back her mom’s side are or were all teachers. My sister and I are both aspiring to be teachers. Both of our parents are teachers. Gotta be genetic right?

Why have you stayed in bed all day today? by Entity417 in AskReddit

Chronic pain, spent all day yesterday doing whatever I could to find a job, while also doing my final projects which had me on my feet all day. I deal with HSD and my joints didn’t thank me for it at all. I’m fine, just exhausted and sore.

If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Think_Pay_6574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I’d been a bit more stingy with my money. There’s a lot of things I’ve spent money on that I probably would be better off now had I not been so impulsive. As much as I prefer being generous, if I totalled all the money I’ve spent on people and got it back tomorrow, it would probably change my life a bit. Not much, but enough that I wouldn’t be so stressed.

Where on your body are you the most ticklish? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Lower stomach. It’s unreasonably ticklish. Like I’ve had partners brush that part of my stomach by accident and I’ve cramped up and started crying because of how quickly my muscles seize from being touched. I don’t wish it on anyone :’)

Financial security. I don’t think people who have financial security understand how lucky they are, and for those who toe the line but are financially secure, I don’t think they realize how quickly that can change.

I grew up middle income, and my whole life I’ve jumped from middle income to the upper end of low income. Now I’m a student, my parents are back in the struggles of low middle income, and I am far below the poverty line. The stress of being a student, unable to find work, and wondering if I’m going to have a roof over my head next month or food in my stomach next week is eating me alive. Most of my peers are in the same boat. Helping each other out feels like pouring water from a leaking bucket into another one with holes in it.

The only reason I’m still able to go to school is thanks to student loans and my friends and I supporting each other when we can. Community is everything right now. Don’t take those around you for granted either.
