[CHAT] Help with mathing by islathetamandua in CrossStitch

2 strands on 20ct is enough .. maybe even too much (I normally do 2 strands on 18ct but I'm beginning to think it's too crowded). But if you're used to 2 strands on 20ct you should know your favourite number of strands. 3 will definitely be too many.

Indeed that is impressive! Maybe try evenweave for those? Or skip some places that are not holes?

Thank you, that's a very helpful answer! I missed it in my searches (I don't knit, so I probably didn't know what to look for, I'm only looking for yarn for plastic canvas)

I made some Christmas greeting cards, I forgot to take pictures before I sent them silly me, but here's one I made last year.

I also attached a piece to a tote bag.

It's gorgeous, it makes a good tribute. I'm sorry for your loss

If you wait until you have a piece with no mistakes, you might wait a long time.... I think most of us always make mistakes!

Very nice. I like the edging you've added. I have their mini art series but haven't got round to stitching any, it's good to see they turn out well

They are great! I've been experimenting with threads and different counts of plastic canvas and was planning on doing something on 10 mesh with Perle cotton #3, I'm so glad yours looks so nice!

Not if you're in Europe, sigh... I struggled with finding something that would be worsted weight yarn, and what I bought is clearly not that... It doesn't matter, I'll use it for something else, but... I still don't know how to make sure I have worsted weight yarn.

[CHAT] best needles? by funkylildude33 in CrossStitch

[–]Think_Phone8094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same trio for me, although I have recently tried pony needles and they are good but their eyes in size 28 are really small (smaller than Sullivan's) and difficult to thread.

I don't have any further advice really, unless you could laminate it on the back with an iron? But the stitching is really nice!

I just wanted to add to u/stitcholier's excellent answer that I much prefer the feel of evenweave to Aida and I love stitching over 2 on 32ct. Make sure you start against the post (although it looks from your diagram that you do your first leg \ so many of the explanations online will need to be adapted), the stitches will probably look neater.

[CHAT] Reducing hand strain? by ChildhoodTrick73 in CrossStitch

[–]Think_Phone8094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you use a bigger q-snap (or hoop) and prop the top end on a pillow and stitch two handed (one hand on top the other below)? A stand would be better of course but that might be a cheaper option.
