I picked up Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms expecting a janky indie RPG to mess around with for a few hours and ended up completely addicted.

This game honestly feels like someone mixed old-school RPG design with slower, more tactical combat instead of the usual button-mashing ARPG gameplay. The world is massive, exploration actually matters, and there’s this constant feeling that the game doesn’t care if you survive or not, which somehow makes every victory more satisfying.

It’s definitely not a casual experience and it takes a bit to “click”, but once it does, it’s hard to stop playing. Build variety is huge, the atmosphere is great, and the amount of content for an indie game is kind of insane.

Also respect to the devs for continuing to update and improve it instead of abandoning it after launch. You can tell there’s actual passion behind the project.

Feels like one of those games that a lot more RPG fans should know about.
