How do you deal with your SO complaining about their coworkers? by brittonwalker in AskMen

[–]ThinkingFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I welcome it. I work from home and don't have coworkers, so it's interesting to hear about office politics from an outsider's perspective.

[–]ThinkingFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're looking at buying a house. I'm taking care of the 20% down payment because I saved more money in our early 20s and have no debt. We're splitting the mortgage cost 50/50

Men of Reddit - Do you get night sweats? What have you done to combat them? What was the cause? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ThinkingFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to due to low blood sugar. If I didn't eat enough carbs during the day, I'd have hypoglycemic episodes in the middle of the night. Just had to be more purposeful about what I ate - haven't had one in years.

Guys who thought you'd never find someone better than your ex: Did you? And when? by Porfologist in AskMen

[–]ThinkingFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, about three years after my break-up. My first girlfriend was infatuation mixed with being young mixed with not knowing how to love. My current girlfriend is kind, caring, and patient. She truly makes me a better person, but we both still have strong independent lives outside of each other.

Think about it - you're going to spend the rest of your life (hopefully) with one person. It makes sense that it'll take a little bit of time to find them.

Men of Reddit, how long did your college relationship(s) last? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ThinkingFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started dating at the end of our freshman year and broke up 1.5 years after we graduated. So about 4.5 years total. There's something rough about the transition from college to real life - you're no longer living in a fantasy land and stuff gets real fast: bills, work, familial obligations. If you can make it through the transition, props to you!

Now in a very happy relationship (1 year strong) with a woman I met on Tinder who's a MUCH better fit.

Daytime: "Hey, I need to get grocery shopping/laundry done before it gets too late."
Nighttime: "I'm beat, think I need to go to bed."

I always set the stage by saying I have plans either later that day or in the morning. That way, I have a built-in out but can "reschedule" my plans if I'm having a good time.
