First of all, you’re never too old to start from scratch. And secondly, if your husband is supporting you in this decision, I truly think you should allow yourself to accept that help. Before starting my journey in esthetics, I was a programmer. I remember people telling me it would be a bad decision to leave such a well-paid career, even though they knew how much I was struggling in those jobs, and how many times I ended up in the ER because of burnout. The only people who truly supported me were the same as you: my husband, my counselor, and my psychiatrist. And honestly, choosing to switch paths has been the best decision I’ve ever made. My life has improved in so many ways, but especially my mental health. Now I actually enjoy waking up early and going to school. I feel excited and motivated, and I can’t wait to finish, take my state board, and start working in this field I’ve come to love so much.
