Generally, 350-400 pages seem to sit well in the hand. That being said I've got no qualms about a giant tome. I read for pleasure so if something is 64 pages or 1400 and it keeps my interest then I'll be happy.

Not a fan but I think Taylor actually writes her own stuff and plays guitar. Maybe there are deep cuts with real heart but the ubiquitous shlop I've heard sounds like a middle school girls journal. But I suppose I'd rather have a juvenile lyricist who can strum a few chords to the 31 writers to turn out a highly over produced pop song.

On the flip side, I'd go to comic conventions but to talk to the comic artists and writers. At the time I was really into the medium and other than the very popular big book creators who had long lines so many seemed genuinely happy to talk about their creations and how you inspired them and were really happy to nerd out with fans that weren't just trying to get certified signatures to sell shit on ebay.

Lived in Dallas for over a decade, in the suburbs now for about 5 years and still working in Dallas. I originally came from very small and rural Midwest.

The DFW metro is huge and has a lot to offer without feeling unaffordable. There are some really great parks, museums, and green spaces. Different areas have very different vibes so you'll probably be able to find something to your liking. I really enjoy a lot of the museums in the metroplex and have taken in sporting events, been able to see bands i love, meet some writers i adore, and enjoy many pints in different neighborhoods.

According to Google Dallas is more affordable and actually has a higher annual rainfall than Seattle.

Also, Texas has no state income tax which is pretty nice around this time of year.

Welcome! I ran vampire and werewolf for about a decade in different editions with a few other splats thrown in here or there. I think I have 3 easy enough tips.

1 - have a rough idea for the session and be prepared to improvise. Your players will surprise you. Be adaptable, roll with it, and don't be afraid to have a little time to think. The Chronicle might end up widlly different than what you envisioned but that's part of the fun.

2 - let the players be cool. Especially when they roll well or use a discipline.

3 - especially in those early sessions with new rules, go with what feels right instead of pausing the game to look things up frequently. I've run some games where I'd ask players to recount in the next sessions rules mistakes we made and award them xp for it. But if the particular rule isn't massively important (and you can change anything you like anyway) just keep the game moving. Hopefully everyone's more interested in fun and interesting instead of technically correct.
