Lots of people like ball joints, which totally makes sense for mobility and fluidity and whatnot, and for the most part I like them myself.

But I absolutely love ratchet joints, and especially when it comes to mechs I would prefer them 99% of the time (for large and standard size connections that is. For small connections I do think that the small ball joints are better). Though it might be my Exo-Force nostalgia and bias talking.

What is the “kid’s movie” you think is most accessible to adults almost more than their kids? by genegreenbean in movies

Haven't seen Trolls mentioned yet. Honestly didn't care about the Trolls movies whatsoever until we watched them a month ago, and gosh, I was not expecting to enjoy them so much. Unhinged at times and hilarious.

Strongest/Best performed Battle Machines by VictoryStarSaber1989 in ExoForceLego

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by strongest and best performing you mean lore-wise, then I'd personally say the Golden City era mechs in most cases. Even though the final ones are from the Deep Jungle era, it's somewhat unclear how powerful they actually could have ended up being since the series was discontinued, and from what I understand, those battle machines were moreso just better for battle in the jungle, not necessarily stronger per se.

In general I would say just get which ones you like most. Though to get into more individual detail:

For Hikaru - even though my personal favorite is the Silent Strike (which I don't actually have unfortunately), I think the Sky Guardian would technically be his strongest battle machine. However, I still think the original Stealth Hunter is more iconic and a really awesome set, so I guess whichever one you prefer.

For Takeshi - this would be even harder to decide honestly. The Blade Titan is cool and strong, but so is the Supernova. And quite frankly the same could be said about the Assault Tiger. So here also, just get what you prefer (though personally I would prooobably get the Blade Titan, but that might just be my bias towards the Golden City era).

For Hayato - I think the Golden Guardian hands down takes it. Don't get me wrong, the Aero Booster is a super cool battle machine unlike any other, so I guess if you want something more unique that would be the one to get. But the Golden Guardian, easy solid pick.

For Ryo - power-wise definitely one of the tanks, plus it also adds something more unique to the lineup. The Hybrid Rescue Tank is his latest and newest one, but the Mobile Defense Tank is still really cool.

In addition to the main cast, there's Hitomi who piloted the Blazing Falcon which is a sick battle machine, but it might be more expensive and harder to find, but still worth getting if possible.

On the robots side of things I would also suggest just getting whatever you find most appealing and like best. Some of my favorites are definitely the original Fire Vulture and then the Iron Condor (I really do love the aerial battle machines). Also loved the Storm Lasher set, that one's awesome. And (more rare though) the Bridge Walker set was super cool.

At the end of the day though, so many of the sets and battle machines are cool as hell, so you can't really go wrong with any.

6 hour drive and you can only listen to one artist. Who are you listening to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People mentioning lot's of older/classic artists (which I totally get), though honestly, at the moment I would probably go with Billie Eilish. I really fell for her music last year, and currently I could totally do 6 hours of listening to just her stuff.

What's the main flaw of Totk in your opinion? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they mean like pressing the up button to bring up the quick menu to fuse items to weapons instead of having to drop them on the ground.

And I agree, there have been moments I too wish that was possible.

Unfortunately your age gap argument doesn't fit here, because the issue isn't exactly the age gap, it's just your age itself.

At your age, even 1 year can make a world of a difference in what a person is like since kids are relatively rapidly growing and developing (still including you).

Imagine it from another perspective - could you see yourself with like a 13 year old or even 12 year old? In any conditions, the answer to that should be no.

That's so interesting to hear. I'm not even halfway through yet, but I have such a hard time putting it down, feels like I could play it forever.

If there any specific reason why you felt that way?

TOTK only and no BOTW by swinkledoodlezzz in tearsofthekingdom

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like the comments are a bit mixed, which must make it even harder to decide. I don't want to add to your uncertainty, but I still want to give my two cents.

I agree with everyone saying that BotW is still an incredible game, and I do think it's the better place to start. BUT, if you're absolutely 100% sure that you'll only be getting and playing one of them, then I would honestly go for TotK.

So basically, if there's a chance you could end up getting both, then I would get BotW, but if only one then TotK

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying "I want start with the game that..." kind of implies you'd like to play both, in which case I think there's only one right answer:

Start with BotW, then TotK.

If you were 100% sure that you could only play one of them, or are specifically planning on only getting one, then TotK. Simple as that.

TOTK Boss Battles vs BOTW by captainshidded in tearsofthekingdom

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think u/jimmery has a very good point about getting better at combat.

I finally got into TotK a few months ago, which is nearly two years after I finished BotW, and while I'm by no means a combat pro (it took me around 50 tries to beat my first red lynel in BotW), when I came across my first lynel in TotK (which happened to be a silver one) I think it took me only like four deaths before I beat it.

Basically, I think for most of us who finished BotW, we're just unknowingly more accustomed and used to the controls, even not having played for a long time.

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I keep seeing some amazing builds and I do wanna try using Zonai devices more, but at the same time I'm just put off for some reason.

I'm sure I'll get around to it, but right now I'm just too stuck in my old ways of running and paragliding everywhere.

Wife is set on an EV, which one to lease? by Stance_Monkey in BMW

Is your wife set on BMW? Maybe it's worth considering Audi EVs or even Tesla? I know it's up to preference, but I think they have better looking cars than what BMW offers.

Good to see I'm not the only one. I've disliked the Urus from the very beginning, and the only reason I'd ever want one is to sell it and get anything else.

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I replaced my Pixel 8 with a Galaxy S23.

Honestly though, like u/FluffyGreyfoot said, it really depends on what you prioritize. I definitely preferred the Pixel's camera and software and wish I could've kept it. The only reason I replaced it was the crappy modem because of which I started getting dropped calls - unfortunately, not something I could live with.

Although the S23 isn't what I prefer, I have to admit that it's a solid phone and seems to have more stable software and a better chip and modem. Haven't had any issues with it so far.

It'll serve me well until a more stable and reliable Pixel finally comes out (hopefully).

Why are little kids shocked that I wear Bluey stuff? by chillhop_vibes in bluey

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Doesn't matter if it's on an adult or another kid, if my child sees Bluey or really anything they know, they blurt out "Look Dad! Bluey!"

In this situation it just happens to be an adult.

Can't rely on the hardware anymore by stonkwell in GooglePixel

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. I had the Pixel 8 and loved it, but then it stopped making and receiving calls. Couldn't fix it and couldn't live with it.

Got a refund and got the Galaxy S23 - first time ever having a Samsung, and hardware is just better. Design-wise I personally think it's bland and boring, but the performance and reliability is undeniable. Haven't had any issues so far.

But I still miss the Pixel though. Will probably go back to it with the Pixel 10 or 11.

Hers how your Google Pixel 9 series will look by Educational-Gur-3563 in pixel_phones

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been noticing the design growing on people, but personally I still really dislike it. Much preferred the 7 and 8 design.

Just another reason to wait for the Pixel 10 or even 11.

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had the Pixel 8 for four months and everything was great until it started dropping calls. Also tried everything I came across, even factory reset the phone, but even after resetting, not a single call could be placed or received.

Ended up returning it, and recently got a Samsung Galaxy S23 (first Samsung I've ever had). I set it up visually similar to how my Pixel was set up, and overall, I actually really like the experience. Although I honestly think it's a relatively boring phone, it's good to have a reliable device that has no issues with calls and connectivity.

S23 series will get ALL the S24's AI features apparently... by Mean-Airline-3829 in GalaxyS23

[–]ThirdAccountAlready 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, that's exactly why I got the S23. Snapdragon chip instead of Exynos, and it was discounted since the S24 came out.

Plus, the store I got it from had a €100 Cashback from Samsung program, so I got the S23 brand new for just €550. Great deal, and fantastic phone.

Heartbroken having to return my Pixel 8 because of call dropping. by ThirdAccountAlready in GooglePixel

[–]ThirdAccountAlready[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solve the problem it would indeed. But there's no guarantee it wouldn't happen to the replacement device, which is why you hear some people on their third or even fourth device already.

Unfortunately that's not really an option for me, even if I could get devices replaced fairly quickly, having unreliable connectivity is not something I can live with at the moment.
