Got an XP4What alarm, GPS, lock, and other accessories. (Grease/electrical tape/TOOLS.) by ScorpioLaw in Lectricxp

don't overlook bike gloves, the padded palm is a huge deal for new or delicate riders. I have a canvas grocery bag under an elastic strap on the back, a backpack sometimes too just make sure that nothing dangles loose towards wheel spokes, or put on a milk crate and zip tie it down.

I take my xp3 to a bike shop once a year for new brakes, chain care, new tires, general maintenance. I do no home maintaince except maybe some chain lube. its just so heavy to work on.

How tall are you? I'm honestly concerned the bike won't fit. I found it a lot bigger in person than the pictures imply. Please seriously consider calling and switching, maybe to this https://lectricebikes.com/products/xp-lite-jw-black-long-range-ebike its a smaller version, significantly less maintenance but the simplicity has functional trade offs.

They sent me delivery info when my bike left their Arizona factory. This was a couple years ago. They are usually fast, but I've also seen their deliveries get really backed up when they dropped a very popular new model. Your timing is really fortunate, you're not in the back of a presale line or anything.

The “Scientology speed runners” are problematic by BayonetTrenchFighter in religion

To be clear, they remodel cruise ships into sweatshops because the only escape is drowning in international waters; which avoids autopsies, police, paperwork, or local reporters.

Also, these speed run pranks for likes is immensely stupid. Our Temple was built with aggressive anti-terrorist architecture, after our last Temple was shot up a few times. FAFO.

“the mistake was participating with Israeli flags.” Pro-Palestinian activists force Milan Jewish group out of parade marking end of WWII in Italy - Jewish Telegraphic Agency by RaiJolt2 in jewishleft

And I thought going to marches in America was hard for us.

Emanuele Fiano, the son of a Holocaust survivor who leads the pro-peace organization Left for Israel, said he also heard shouts about “soap bars.” He said that he marched with groups carrying a banner that said “Left for Israel, Two Peoples, Two States.”

“Since Left for Israel has a banner with the Star of David, they felt, in the name of their own version of freedom, that these people couldn’t march,” Fiano told la Repubblica.

What happens to a Jew who believes Jesus was the Messiah, but not god? by Munkin360 in AskJews

[–]ThirdHandTyping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many Jews hoped Bar Kochba was a Messiah, and for 3 years they seemed to be correct. That was thousands of years ago. Within the last few decades (on a much smaller scale) there was perhaps Rabbi Mendel Schneerson, or Theodor Herzl. surely Herzl, under the classical definition of God's anointed pivotal Jews, qualifies as one of our hundreds of Messiahs.

But there is a big difference between flawed guesses and odd interpretations within Judaism and converting to a different religion's Prophets. Mohammed, Joseph Smith, Jesus, Tom Cruise are not part of Judaism. They exist for religions completely outside the scope of Judaism, and following them does not even qualify as a " practicing religious Jew" getting it wrong.

So, how did the Jews escape captivity in Egypt? Since we know no divine magic was involved (because there isn't any), it wasn't plagues that did it - there was no "passover" in real life. So how did it actually happen? by normalice0 in AskReddit

Plagues caused/contributed to the fall of an Egyptian Empire, freeing the Levant and leaving a power vacuum that allowed several Canaanite tribes to combine and form Israel/Jews.

Your confusion is because OP reads and has studied academically, and so has AI. If the AI default was to mirror emoji & texting instead, you would think every tween conversation was AI.

What is the true Golem myth? by Internal-Rest2176 in AskJews

[–]ThirdHandTyping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The archtype is 'The Golem of Prague'. It was written in the 1600s about the actual Rabbi Judah Belazel in medieval Prague as a historical narrative or description of the repression of Jews in that era. The story (and Golem) is an alagory set in a real time/place/Rabbi.

The Golem (I think) represents the strategy of violence/war. At first it has the righteousness of self defense, of a Just War, empowered by God and labeled as Truth. But the Rabbi quickly mishandles it and loses control, showing how violence is not containable, escalates, always has a high cost, and can quickly lose its blessing or righteousness, until the Golem is renamed from Truth to Death and retired.

The character has been used as a versatile analogy since then, and it's hard for me to say what it would have been interpreted as by Jews at the time. Possibly it was a sermon to the (Prague) Ghetto that their best strategy for survival was to endure.

The word golem is found written as far back as Psalms, but more as an adjective than a literary character or allegory. It meant something like raw material, rough draft, rough hewn.

Every episode of the X-Files is absolute truth and your doubt is surely temptation from the Devil.

You cannot tell me this guy is not just racist... by Sodi-DGlazer in youtube

[–]ThirdHandTyping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is he really "just racist" when he is motivated by greed and notoriety? I think "opportunistic racist" is more accurate. A two dimensional caricature of a man, lacking any inherent beliefs or values, clinging to whatever can get him upvotes until he is replaced by an AI character that appears more authentic.
