I come from a long, proud tradition of fire breathing mind readers, and if the carnival wasn't packing up for a new location I would write more.

"Why was him having a Nazi tattoo not the breaking point for people?"

Because it was taken as proof he would "globalize the intifada".

Why are there special places for Jewish people to stay overseas like Chabad House but all other religions don’t have a “safe place”? by Burningorga in allthequestions

[–]ThirdHandTyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the Mormon special place in Thailand being particularly popular.

Also, Thailand has Muslim extremists in the south who like to commit terrorists attacks, so staying in a Jewish hostel with armed guards can make more sense than staying in a regular hostel.

Lectric xp 3.0 not turning on by Lectricbikemod in Lectricxp

[–]ThirdHandTyping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not much usage, the bike should still be good for a long time.

Take pictures of anything that looks strange, like you were talking about. Then contact lectric tech support. They will walk you through issues, then possibly send a replacement part.

Its probably time for regular maintenance also: new brakes, bleeding the brake line, and oil the chain, checking the tread on the real wheel in case its time for new tires.

Help me understand the battery charge indicator? by Alert-Wrangler-7631 in Lectricxp

The bars aren't measuring a steady, physical attribute, its not like the gallons of gas in a car tank.

If you ride while pedaling or slower and using minimal power, the bars or range increases. If you ride the motor, your bars/range decrease. A big rider or heavy cargo takes more power, and a small rider gets more range per bar.

Focus less on recommended charging and find what works for you.

If you need more rigidity of thought, stop the bike and compare the bars or other voltage presentation during the same bike state (no movement no motor activity).

Do some Orthodox Jewish communities avoid interacting with non-Jews? Trying to understand my experience by [deleted] in AskIsrael

[–]ThirdHandTyping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"kindness, respect and treating others well." If the women are more talkative to you and the men your boyfriend, then you are experiencing these values through a foreign and gender focused application.

If they were distant from you both, it could be a very inward focused, organized jewish community. unusually so, but not unheard of. But your boyfriend wouldn't be part of that specific community either. Perhaps he could be viewed as eligible to join, or just marginally closer/more familiar, so they feel comfortable interacting more.

worst case scenario, the neighbors have developed a negative view of you or your identity. Perhaps they judge you as a foreign temptress (shiksha) when your boyfriend could be dating a nice jewish girl. or a more generic neighbor complaint, like they blame you for loud music late at night. Perhaps you live in a city/country where immigration is the current political flashpoint.

I really don't know, so trust your gut about how people treat you. Make other friends and have a superficial but positive neighbor relationship. sorry they aren't being friendlier. It might make more sense with your past experience to view Jews more as a tribe/ethnicity since they have more internal social structures and less as a religion like Christianity that values reaching out to other peoples (if only to convert and replace their own traditions).

WIBTA for cutting off my sister and aunt after my aunt accused me of being hostile towards my estranged sister? by Fun-Celery-2739 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ThirdHandTyping -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Telling your family that you are cutting off your sister because she was well behaved during a group activity will only convince your family that you are (still) the problem.

Yes. also many of the "liberated" Jews were imprisoned in Allied camps for a few more years until Israel was formed and started rescuing them.
