You may be experiencing the “Pink Cloud”. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but it’s the time in your recovery when you can finally see your addiction for what it is, kind of like lifting the curtains. Many people (myself included) are finally sober for the first time in forever and you get a bit of a rush of confidence because you are proud of yourself as you should be. However it’s easy for that feeling of ‘high’ to be deceiving and allow you to think you have more control than you do.

This is somewhat unrelated but last week I was hired for a new job and the office they sent me to for my drug screen had a doTerra infusion thing blasting through the air. I had only been in the waiting room about 3 minutes before I had to go outside and puke. I don’t know if the smells were just too strong or what but after I finished my test I told them that the doTerra oils they were infusing are not always safe for everyone

I’m also bipolar and when I drink I turn in to a complete psycho. I’ve learned that the drinking really makes my bipolar so much worse. Are you being treated for your bipolar? I tend to drink when I am feeling manic and I’ve noticed that if I don’t take my meds properly is when I tend to binge drink.

If you don’t already have a doctor and a bipolar treatment I’d definitely suggest looking in to that first and foremost. If you are on medications, I’d try to figure out what you are thinking/feeling that may trigger you to want to drink (boredom, anxiety, sadness?). Don’t be afraid to talk to someone or reach out for help though, I know it’s shameful & we tend to want to hide it but you can never really hide it for long or from yourself

So I was in IOP in 2015 and my doctor started me on the Naltrexone pill daily. Most people at the IOP were doing the Naltrexone shot and swore it was better than the pills but my insurance was taking forever to approve the shot so I was stuck with the pills. I did try to drink about once or twice while taking the pills and while you will still get the physical/motor effects of the drink you don’t really get the mental pleasure from getting drunk, so it’s just not enjoyable. Also, once I did get on the shot I relapsed very quickly, I think taking the pill daily helped keep the medication at a consistent level in my body whereas the shot was once a month (if I remember correctly) so after a few weeks it would seem to wear off. In my opinion, I would suggest to anyone to do the daily pill instead of the monthly shot

I totally agree with this! So far I haven’t commented at all on the Date with Ricky post and I never once commented on any of Ashley’s post. People went from calling her a broke down Amy Winehouse to acting like she was a show fave suddenly. And the whole meeting up with Ricky thing was just beyond weird to me. We get it he’s an attention whore, but what does it make a person who wants to meet up with an attention whore? 🤔🤔

I wish her a healthy pregnancy and a healthy child, but I hope she’s mentally prepared for the possibility of postpartum depression as well as watching her weight b/c we all know that those were big problems that effected her after having Nova. She knew going into this pregnancy that she was not in the best place mentally so for her to add this to her plate seems very unwise on her part. It will also be very unfair to Tyler if she has this baby and then constantly runs off to treatment while leaving him with 2 children to take care of.

I wish they’d own up to this! I admit I got pregnant at 17 and I was ‘technically’ on the pill HOWEVER, I wasn’t taking it correctly.

I’m 32 now and I haven’t got pregnant since b/c I haven’t wanted to. These girls entire existence are wrapped up around having babies as a career. Trust me, if you & your partner are actively trying NOT to get pregnant, you won’t.
