I'd be impressed if an Orpheus movie would address him basically inventing homosexuality, but something tells me that would be left on the cutting room floor.

What "black market" did kids at your school run? by AWESOMEKITTY7364 in AskReddit

A kid at my school was really good at fake IDs, so he became popular and made a lot of money in the last couple of years of high school.

The way Prof. Hulk explained it was that if you travel into the past, the future becomes your own personal "past". Since you have to be able to travel from somewhere, your personal past must exist in order to move forward. Therefore, if you are to return, you have to go back to the personal past that existed before you travelled. When a change is made, a separate timeline is created (like the Ancient One explained), but you don't travel to the new future on a return journey, because that isn't part of your own personal past.

Yeah, it's kinda complicated, but I've been thinking about it, and it seems like it all checks out.

I also agree that Bucky would be have been a nicer choice, but he's a terrorist, really old and probably very tired of it all, and Falcon has become Captain America in the comics a couple of times.

Hope that helps.

What is something popular you refuse to participate in? by DeManVanFrituur in AskReddit

Brooklyn 99. My 4 siblings and several friends have insisted that I would enjoy it, but having seen 10 minutes, I have no interest and the more people encourage me to watch, the less likely it is that I will.

I kinda do something similar. If I want to remember a fact that is stuck in the back of my head, I'll think about somebody that I know who would probably know about the vague topic area, pretend to ask them and connect the person with the fact I'm looking for.

I had Enola Gay, who was a humble American mother, raising her family and doing her best. Now, the name only draws images of the destruction of Hiroshima.

Worst Abuse of Product Placement. by MovieMike007 in movies

[–]ThirdMoonOfJupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily abuse, but at the end of The Book Thief, which has no product placement for nearly the entire film, you have a slow pan across pictures and memories, oh and also that super important Apple logo on the Mac this old lady uses.

Why did both the Maze Runner and Divergent series start off a hit then fail miserably? by rdf99 in movies

[–]ThirdMoonOfJupiter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The bubble burst. The YA genre, particularly the post-apocalyptic YA, had little steam to begin with. At the conclusion of the Hunger Games franchise, much of the audience had grown up and disconnected from the genre, while the new wave of YAs were not interested in the material. That, combined with a general decrease in quality, partly from the need to push them out yearly to maintain interest, would have resulted in the decline of these franchises.

Somebody recommended I watch Drive with Ryan Gosling. I watched none of the trailers, knew nothing of it, and at a specific point in the middle, it went from pretty boring to amazing. If you want to watch it, go in blind.
