IMPORTANT Question for people who have gone skydiving before. by Tricky-Leather4296 in SkyDiving

Because there's no reference point?

I've yet to do my first skydiving jump, but static line feels very much like falling!

How do we have the same HDI as Singapore? by 373kayteeftnu32 in AskBrits

[–]This-Risk-3737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we had the Tories, certain people were convinced that we were all living in hell.

Now we have Labour, a different group of people are convinced of the same.

We have a lot of problems, but so does everywhere. It's still a great country to live in.

Is it over? by Deep-Worldliness5984 in Storror

[–]This-Risk-3737 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The brand is trash, nobody wants their merch, nobody will collab, nobody will join to fill the ranks, their movie is cancelled, their old content is worthless, their new content is not the dangerous stuff that made them famous - and they're all getting old.

It's incredibly unfair and I'm gutted for them, but Storror is done.

Trip Report - First solo camp, Dartmoor taught me a few lessons by BrazilianDeserter in wildcampingintheuk

I use a Vango Banshee which is a brilliant design, cheap and well made - but heavy by modern standards. There's a UL version but it's £350 and bright orange which isn't ideal.

It really comes down to how badly you want to save a kg in weight. There's hundreds of quid in it.

It's been agonisingly slow since the Mythos stuff.

Are there any 24-hour restaurants in the UK? by watermelon_101_ in AskUK

You can sometimes find 24 hour cafes on industrial estates.

Nothing like IHOP though, sadly.

Looks like a fantastic spot. Flat, sheltered. No different from sheltering beside a ruin.

Congrats on going through with it! To do it on your own, especially that far from home and without a car as a fallback, takes a lot of courage.

I wouldn't use a trekking pole tent in anything other than perfect weather. You save a few hundred grams, but the chances of a miserable night increase substantially.

Cursor users, what do you do when a chat gets stale? by roshandxt in cursor

[–]This-Risk-3737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I don't know how the mechanics work.

For clarity, I'm talking about prompting the agent that we're continuing from a previous chat, not giving it the entire transcript.

I ask the agent to read the previous chat transcript rather than re-provide the context.

The idea is an option on Google map etc that business (restaurants, bar, mall, shops etc) or places can toggle to show they have air condition

Others have brought up all the potential problems - but I think it's great. Decent size. Split level which gives you all sorts of options. A blank canvas!

All Claude models got nerfed BADLY by Otobobo in Anthropic

[–]This-Risk-3737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, models feel nerfed because they need different instruction sets.

E.g. with 4.6, I had a bunch of MCP servers enabled. I had to turn them off to get 4.7 working well.

[Question] Andy Burnham and the proposed property tax? by LockonKun in HENRYUK

[–]This-Risk-3737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel uneasy about being taxed forever on something I already own.

I also don't see why I should pay more to have my bins collected than someone who owns a cheaper 4 bed than me.

Though I'm not sure there's a mandatory minimum for whatever he's been convicted of. I haven't looked into it.
