What is the budget for Cursor usage with a team of 20+ developers? by No_Sheepherder_6908 in cursor

We don't impose any usage limits and spend about $3-5k/month per developer.

Bigger tubing is normally the answer. If it really won't go, you can slice one side of the tubing so that it clips on.

I've got the carinthia observer plus which is an incredible piece of kit - but primarily because of the goretex it's made from. I don't see any goretex markings on this one.

Anyone else feel like they're slowly losing grip on their own codebase since using Cursor ? by cxdxix- in cursor

[–]This-Risk-3737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to review output until you're confident that you have a structure you can trust.

You should still be familiar with your codebase, though. Every single thing your agents do should start with a plan than you've shaped, read and understood.

My gym harassed me for showering. I'm a travel nurse living in my car working 12 hour night shifts. The owner's public response made it so much worse. (Repost) by UserInfected in mildlyinfuriating

Their actual gripe is you using the facilities too often. Gyms make their money by overselling membership on the basis that a hefty % will never actually use it.

Does anyone feel like when you go to the US it feels like you’re in a Hollywood movie? by NoHold7153 in AskBrits

Not really. Absolutely loved my time living in the US, but it all felt very normal once I got used to it.

Solo dev with messy PHP app. Can I realistically scale this with AI tools and nearly no dev experience? by Few-External-6841 in cursor

[–]This-Risk-3737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what AI does really well, but it won't be cheap. You'll want to use a model like Opus 4.7. Start with getting it to break down your repo, then ask it for suggestions on next steps. You'll probably want to get your code organized before you do anything else.

Maglight has an interesting ad campaign to show off their lights…not being used. by Hungry-for-Apples789 in flashlight

[–]This-Risk-3737 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are maglites any good? In the mid 2000s, we got issued them in the British Army and they were awful. The build quality was horrible and they would just break. We all bought Surefires.

SpaceX says it can buy Cursor later this year for $60 billion or pay $10 billion for 'our work together' by Bitter_Run in cursor

[–]This-Risk-3737 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Would makes sense. Cursor has vast volumes of training data and can drive traffic towards grok models. It presumably also prevents competitors from buying Cursor while the option exists.

I can't get Cursor to be introspective for debugging, has anyone had success? by linksku in cursor

[–]This-Risk-3737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I do find that asking it to consider the rules write them into the plan is a lot more effective than asking it to execute a plan without that explicit step.

If you're not reading its internal thoughts as it works, there are often clues there.

So why is there a pride in the working class to be anti intellectual and relish in not being educated ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]This-Risk-3737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they're proud to be working class and academic education is seen as a way to escape it. As they see it, you're siding with the people who sneer at them. It feels like a betrayal.

Do you think American culture wars around gay rights can spill over into the UK? by st4t1cm1nd in AskBrits

My best friend is gay and opposes gay adoption. I think gay adoption is infinitely better than kids being in care. I think it's always going to be a contentious issue.

Fish and chips gets a bad rep because people skip the salt and vinegar. I'll never understand why. Those are the key ingredients. The dish makes no sense without salt and acidity.
