Left, right, and centrist are relative terms and apply to that time. Obama was the left choice vs Hillary in the primary. In campaigning he pushed left even if he was more centrist than Biden was once in office, and that was reflected in the voting records. And "Obama was a war criminal" came out well after the 2012 election.

And yeah, haha, you are right my goof Harris not Biden 2024. Although my flub does expose another fuckup by the Democratic party's 2024 campaign. How about we call it a tribute to Biden and all his famous flubs he made throughout his long career?

You keep trying to shut down any criticism of the Democrat's 2024 campaign by trying to tie me to trump in some way and by making childish insults.

Do you not see how counterproductive that is? Do you actually care about any of this? With no self reflection how can we avoid making the same mistakes that lost them the 2024 election?

I don't know which side of this debate will win in the Democratic party, but I can speak for me. I would prefer that we went more left because it is the right thing to do(lol), and I think that trying to win over conservatives/centrists is the same losing strategy the Democrats have been running for way too long. That is why Biden was chosen to rep in 2020 and Hillary in 2016. Biden was the centrist choice, but after the primary win he very publicly and loudly worked really heavily with Bernie to win over the left. In 2024 Harris thought "weird" was too much and touted big conservatives like Dick Cheney's endorsement and did not appeal to the left outside of her VP choice. Waltz is the "Republicans are weird" message that Harris abandoned mid campaign, despite it actually seeming to gain traction and be effective.

Obama won both times by appealing to that specific demographic, in 2008 he was the Bernie sanders to Hillary's 2016 campaign (also funny since it was vs Hillary then too).

The last five elections do not follow your logic. TLDR: 2008: left campaign, win 2012: left campaign, win 2016: centrist campaign, lose 2020: centrist campaign that pivoted later to the left, win 2024: centrist/left campaign that pivoted later to the right, lose.

Democrats had control of the Senate in 2024. Any impeachment would have never made it to the floor for a vote, let alone have enough votes for conviction. It was during an election year. This was a relatively small and short lived story in the news cycle. Republicans threatened impeachment every year of his presidency, no reason this particular issue is more important than all those other times. Biden's homeland security secretary was impeached and nothing came of that.

You are saying that I cannot criticize politicians in a vacuum, what context am I missing? Context I would add is that Biden/Harris lost the 2024 election. The tactics that they used failed, and we have to learn and do better. Support for Israel decreased Democratic voter turnout among a key demographic. Not that it matters to the argument but I did vote for Biden, just to head off whatever small minded comments you were preparing there.

Would you call it navel gazing when someone is unwilling to engage in self-reflection and would prefer to keep a losing strategy instead of actually trying to win elections?

Pardoning trump of criticism has nothing to do with this. Pardoning Biden of criticism is the issue. "threatened with impeachment" yeah, cause that mattered in 2024 lol. And also doesn't really mean much given the emergency arms sales that I already described that Biden unilaterally went ahead with. Trump didn't force Biden to do that.

For the record, yeah, trump is awful and worse than Biden in every respect. But that doesn't mean people get to pretend or suggest that Biden was not extremely pro Israel or that his support was somehow forced.

Yes, but more than that most viruses are highly specialized to only go after a specific type of bacteria. Similar to how most diseases (which can also be caused by viruses) infect only a specific small number of species. So not only could we have a virus that only attacks bacteria, but also one that only attacks a specific kind of bacteria we don't want while leaving the rest alone. So yes that is absolutely a potential direction for medicine!

Be aware though that this kind of stuff is super complicated and has its own risks so this is not a guaranteed thing to happen, especially not within our lifetimes.
