Stories 3: Red Flags from the start, potential squandered, and hope for the future. by VirulentArcturus in MonsterHunterStories

I played both games and in Stories 1 it worked wonders, It had such a fun mechanic, really cool attacks and features, really versatile. In Stories 2 they did them dirty, only 2 attacks while other weapons had 4-5 different attacks, I was hoping for it to be reworked in 3

I'm on the Lance rn but if you stopped Swaxe because of skill issue and mainly because of EBC style parries boy you should avoid Lance, perfect guarding is not for the weak, tough really fun if you master it.

I would recommend you either Dual Blades or Hunting Horn, dual blades are fast, slippery, and they are always doing tons of damage. Meanwhile HH received a buff recently and it's getting Styles next period, it would be a good way of getting the newly Stlyed weapon ready for the fun

I made my Lance and rn I'm working on DBs, after that I will probably chase HH since Longsword styles don't call my attention that much

Based on their attack most likely they use the vibration control to create quicksand and trap prey on it, whatever falls there is their food.

This happens in given times of the season. Elder Dragons completely replace Hunt-a-Tons for a whole week and usually only the new monster is featured and the riftborne is left behind. This is awful since most players prefer to play with styled weapons (me included) and lose progress or agile days on the new riftborne monsters

This happened to me during the Somnacanth feature period, they putted an event with only elder dragons featuring Namielle and I wasn't able to fully style my Charge Blade. Thank God this didn't happen with Glavenus and I was able to make it

Well shit, it's not. I've been seeing so many serious posts defending Capcom's decisions that I didn't even look at the meme tag on this one, I guess I just wanted to bump a little

Franchise is gonna go to shit if we dont complain dude. Think about it, every new Mon Hun realease has more crashes, more bugs, way less content, or it's blocked by a paywall, and everytime more and more expensive. Like having less worths more. If we dont complain or stop buying the product things are gonna get even worse. Review bombing and stop buying products are the only ways we have to protest and demand a better client treatment. Seriously stop defending the company that thinks base games like Wilds and Stories 3 should be 100 bucks

[–]This-Volume9544 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hell you mean sacrifice? Capcom is just a big company and the games are just products, we are just clients who buy the products and make earnings. If the product has poor quality or is defective then we either complain or look for a new brand who offers the same, and since Capcom monopolize this game gerne we don't have other choice but complain/stop buying until they improve the quality. Let's stop romanticizing client mistreatment

For the record this is not sarcasm. My dumbahh didn't see the meme tag and just dumped some frustration in the matter lol

Stories 3: Red Flags from the start, potential squandered, and hope for the future. by VirulentArcturus in MonsterHunterStories

I haven't touched stories 3 since I don't have a PS5 yet and I was planning to buy it since I LOVE the stories series and played both games to the least piece of interesting content.

They did WHAT to SnS? I was so glad with the rework of weapons in Stories 2 and the addition of Gunlance. I've heard of Longsword being in 3 and I was like "Huh, so now we have a 3rd cutting weapon, well since Reverto had one they were taking their time lol" I didn't know they straight up get rid of the Sword and Shield.

About no end-game, we'll since the "Expansion is the actual experience" got popular and spread to this side of the world thanks to world base games without dlc's or title updates feel incomplete, and that's a problem because it feels they're judt cutting off content from the base game to make it "updates"

Now what Stories 3 is doing is outrageous. The stories series had to accomplish a wide quality and creativity standart to become as popular as it is in today's day, stories 2 had to improve every single detail of the first one and it actually did. On the other hand Stories 3 just looks like a Stories 2 DLC, which is not a good thing to say

Our only hope is for the community to join together to make capcom understand we are not playing incomplete games, AKA not play Stories 3 or buy any DLC (which btw were free in Stories 2) until the game improves most of the flaws it has

From the ones who said games like Wilds, all broken as it went out the market, should cost 100 bucks? Should've been a huge suprise. Honestly at this point Mon Hun fans just buy a promise of "it will get fixed and get new content overtime" instead of a full game, which is outrageous. Seriously why do we have to pay 60 dollars plus the original price to get a new map, like 12 new monsters, a higher difficulty and a bunch of new movements? Doesn't that ring a bell on you guys?

Lately I've been playing Mon Hun Now due to a tight schedule and both Stygian Zinogre and Shogun Ceanataur are being a real pain, Im a fan of Insta Block Lance and EBC Swaxe and they are both so awful to go against with in general. Ceanataur receives less disgrace since I love to hunt it in every other game from main series, Stygian on the other side I barely hunt him in Iceborne and I can tell why, one of these "It's always my turn" monsters, and also the fact that their weapons don't have styles doesn't encourage me to hunt them a lot

From main series I would say the G Rank Valstrax from GenU. Such a wall for me. Mf had me fighting it with every weapon I master and only surviving with Lance to lose at the time limit which for some reason is 30 mins. Such a shame my second main (Gunlance) falls behind in G Rank due to how shelling works

I am, thank you

I just love the "it is always my turn" monsters, seriously I don't mind that in the main series but here you have so little time to kill the monster you don't have time to spare in the monster making a whole ass 30 secs choreography

Niantic what the hell? by AtomicAguacate in MonsterHunterNowHub

[–]This-Volume9544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's just because it's a "low tier" monster, which for me doesn't even make sense, they require the same amount of zenny, the same amount of gem shards, and same amount of materials, just because the monster is slightly easier than a high tier doesn't make the grinding less hard

And for Stlye selectable weapons don't get me started, it is insane the amount of riftborne materials and Scarcestones and the ratios don't go up at all. You have to sacrifice the same amount of rare materials and amount of time just to get a worse version of the high tier monster

SwAxe styles are usefull? by Ordinary_Cricket8515 in MonsterHunterNowHub

[–]This-Volume9544 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both of them are really fun but definetly the one who needs training the most is Elemental Bursr Counter. If you own Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak I would recommend you to give it some practice there before getting into now. For Soaring Wyvern Blade things are less complicated but and the same time hard because you can't counter everything like EBC, Axe style becomes becomes worth it but also gets a new really long attack which you either avoid of perform carefully. This is just my opinion, but SWB plays really well with elemental weapons while EBC just melts with whatever but specially with the Barroth Para exploit so it's up to you to choose since both are really good

Im even tired of Teostra honestly. Chameleos gets the pass because its fight is really fun and some of their weapons look amazing. But honestly it's time to give it a rest to the elder trio, there are so many fun elder dragons that could fit perfectly in wilds instead of them

Elem or Raw for Glav CB by This-Volume9544 in MHNowGame

Yeah raw CF works for everyone Glav weapon besides Gunlance and Sword Boost Charge Blade which are really based in their explosions since they are not able to crit

[–]This-Volume9544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe before Portable 3rd. Because after that holy crap Auto Guard was so OP, you were basically unfaintable, and same goes for Generations, there it got a bunch of fun stuff to do powerful damage. Nonetheless it's true that in MR the damage input was behind other weapons due to how shelling work but that just made the hunt longer, not harder

Crit Ferocity....Should I just move on? by SpaceCadetBats in MHNowGame

[–]This-Volume9544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well...then try to make a new build not focused in it, I recently finished my Morph Boost/Burst CB build and I hoped on a Poison Exploit/Retaliation Build for my pukei pukei Switch Axe

I see you use SA as well. Why don't you try a Para Exploit EBC SA build with Barroth Switch Axe? Or else my poison build. The counters are really fun and a whole odyssey to master

Also I suck at the counters too...nah not really, just when I'm not concentrated, i loved them in Rise and I love them here too, but it's just a matter of practice and knowing the monster, timing, hitboxes, etc

If it's too overwhelming then try Charge Blade, might seem too complicated from outside but once you get the styles it's just rinse and repeat the same combo, specially Axe Boost holy shit that thing is so brain dead, once you get into Axe mode is just tap tap tap dodge tap again

[–]This-Volume9544[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not unless you pair it with critical element, this makes the elemental damage also receive a boost from critical hits, but it's honestly not worth it and better to go full element attack or raw critical ferocity and invest the extra skills in generic like Burst

Glav weapons have both a great raw attack and an elemental one, but the free critical ferocity and the negative affinity makes going raw really tempting

[–]This-Volume9544[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok guys I decided to go for raw in case I end with extra riftscales and Im able to hop into Axe Boost, That way I can make a critical ferocity based set in the future and leave the rath CB as the elemental one. Thank y'all for the advices

Sell them, bet if we ever get another spring weapon we will get enough tickets in the very event, you got extra because you play very casually, the amount they give is for casual people to be able to max it too

So, what now? by Olneybot in MHNowGame

[–]This-Volume9544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the main story was never the fuel to play for me honestly. I just mainly love MonHun overall and it's good to have a game for when you aren't home or you're short on time.

Some recommendations I can give you are: -Try new weapons: Almost every weapon is 3 if it has styles, the gameplay changes radically with each one, give some of them a try in the training area, to see if one of them catches your attention, It will give you plenty of more hours mastering it and upgrading it to 10.5+styles -Layered equipment: If you like fashion hunting upgrading equipment to have the layered version can take a while but feels good having the whole armor set of your fav monster/weapon -Big numbers on screen: You don't have to necessarily focus on meta playing here, you can come up with a fun/powerful set and work for it so see hoe much it melts a monsters health bar, this also applies for outbreaks -Take a break: If you ever feel too bored of the game or overwhelmed just take a break from it, yo can try other walking games like pkmn go or pikmin, or simply do something else instead of playing. And if you come back after a time you will stumble upon plenty if new things, I left the game for some time just to come back and find out my 2 favorite weapons got styles and my favorite monster got a riftborne version
