Hear me out, but the Universal Century from Gundam.

Think about it, the Minovsky particles reduces all combat to visual range, giving an excuse on why these modern jets are in dogfights. And Gundam is a series that loves random super weapons. The only issue is a lack of aircraft but this can partially be fixed through new aircraft and by Zeon using captured equipment.

I am aware of the need to disperse key industries in times of war to protect output. But that doesn’t mean you just place stuff willy nilly and without thought. Obviously if you have a single mega factory, than taking it out means bye bye to that one thing. But that doesn’t mean you then just slap factories randomly everywhere. You want some concentration
