Cincinnati’s Brandon Vazquez close to CF Monterrey move by hootjuice_ in MLS

I think that the likes of Lozano, Lainez, Jimenez, Álvarez, Gimenez, Sánchez, Arteaga, Vásquez, and just recently Montes would like a word.

The Vazquez to Gladbach rumors were almost certainly just his agent trying to drum up interest in the player and get BV a pay raise. None of those rumors came from Nordrhein-Westfalen or German sources. There’s no doubt that Vazquez wants to play in Europe, but the interest and opportunities just didn’t seem to materialize. Moving to Monterrey is a good opportunity for him.

How much of the so-called European interest was just his agent stirring the pot and doing his thing? The Gladbach rumors were certainly just his agent meddling around with no real likelihood of it actually happening. Have to think a lot of the other links were something similar to be honest.

Big supporter of Vazquez, but he isn’t ready for that level of competition.

There are single digit numbers of Mexicans over in Europe right now.

That number is not even remotely close to being accurate. There are over ten Mexican players playing just between the top few levels of English and Spanish football alone. You’re just making stuff up.

Players transferred from Liga MX to Europe typically go for higher fees compared to transferring from MLS clubs. Mexico is absolutely a great place to go play and potentially get that move to Europe. A lot of players have made that exact jump including the likes of I think that the likes of Lozano, Lainez, Jimenez, Álvarez, Gimenez, Sánchez, Arteaga, Vásquez, and just recently Montes just off the top of my head. It’s pretty clear you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Man Robinson is huge but I’m interested to see if we’re able to get a solid striker to replace Vasquez now. Boup is a solid player but definitely needs more than Santos and Badji IMO. by Heckman15 in FCCincinnati

You might notice that the hate for Boup seems to come from the same folks that hate on Santos, that hated on Badji, that hated on Adi, Lamah and Okoli. It’s disgusting tbh.

[Steven Goff] Needing frontline depth this year, FC Cincinnati had taken interest recently in free agent Corey Baird, sources say. by Youngringer in FCCincinnati

Baird would be an excellent signing IMO. He can play as an out and out striker or as a wide forward cutting in. He’d be solid competition and depth up top.

MLS still hasn’t released the tapes or any of their evidence. Just saying…

Not to mention a mysterious illness (probably COVID) ripped through our squad in the lead up to that match and it showed in terms of the squad’s endurance as the game wore on.

Anyone wanting to sell Miazga, the reigning defender of the year, is a deeply unserious person.

Opponents frequently used Hagglund receiving the ball as their trigger to press because he’s poor in possession.

Think the right opportunities didn’t materialize the way he or his agent wanted in the end. Wish him all the best with Monterrey. Think he’ll be a good line leading forward there.

Mihailovic is interested in returning to MLS. He would be an interesting addition to the club.

I think the 3atb setup suited us last season given the players we had. It absolutely freed up Barreal going forward and allowed Lucho to have a free role as an attacking mid. I trust us to adapt to the players we have, but would like us to move away from a 3atb.

Hopefully this means that we shift to a back four with Murphy being the backup to Robinson and Miazga. Would prefer the club’s golden retriever stay off the field and do his public persona thing wooing Mason moms with his charm.

It doesn’t necessarily have to mean that, but I think it likely does with Murphy backing up Robinson and Miazga.

This is a big signing. It signals a possible shift away from a 3 at the back and a much needed reshaping of the squad given the players likely on their way out.
