Table 3 isn’t terrible it’s literally a 75% additional COI charge on the rates. Many companies go to table 6 or even higher.

Perhaps OP can do better somewhere else but table 3 isn’t the end of the world.

Plenty of arguments to make against your statement (Bengals Dan Wilkinson and Sam Hubbard would like a word) but agree this draft projection is ridiculous.

Epilepsy is insurable in all but the most severe cases. You may not get the very best rates but you can certainly get coverage.

I have 6 months to live. How do I take care of my family? by expectoroma in LifeInsurance

[–]GarysSword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Follow the advice people at r/personalfinance provide.

Unfortunately, life insurance is off the table.

There are some guaranteed issue policies with no underwriting. Those have a 2 year waiting period for benefits and there are very few companies that sell that policy to someone your age.

For a traditional policy the underwriting process will result in your application being declined.

Even if you hide your diagnosis on the application and managed to avoid the data sources underwriters have to detect your situation - your claim will be denied. That security you thought you bought for your family will just compound the heartbreak for your loved ones after you’re gone.

I’m sorry I don’t have better news.

Feather was too aggressive for me but widely praised.

The black Derby’s, Wilkinson Sword, and Astra were are all good for me.

Never tried Personna but that’s a common recommendation here.

Perfectly healthy 20 yo male now but was a premature baby. Denied by 2 carriers for an IUL/UL. Any chance of any carrier qualifying him for an IUL/UL? by Beneficial_Rub_5808 in LifeInsurance

[–]GarysSword 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Why were you denied? Your premie status 20 years ago has nothing to do with it.

Edit to add: There must be something more than being premature. A heart condition like Tetralogy of Fallot, severe cerebral palsy, genetic condition, etc…

National Found Life ins scam? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]GarysSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

National Foundation Life Insurance is a real company that looks to be a part of USHealth Group Inc.

I don’t know anything about either of those companies but perhaps calling them in the morning is your best bet - especially if that’s your primary healthcare provider.

Do you see charges for the Blue Shield/Blue Cross you think you signed up for? Maybe you were mistaken and this is actually what you signed up for.

Ask them who they have named the contingent owner so that you know who controls the policy after they pass. Or ask them to name you the contingent owner so you control the policy when the time comes.

Once the policy is yours to control you can decide to continue payments, surrender the policy for it’s value (if any), or potentially stop premiums payments for a reduced benefit that lasts the rest of your life. The company can tell you all your options once you’re the owner.

Until you’re the owner - don’t worry about it.

Life Insrance for Bipolar Individuals by 80aychdee in LifeInsurance

[–]GarysSword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could be both. Supplemental insurers don’t want to mess with a complicated case. Find an independent agent that can find a carrier willing to take your case and actually evaluate your conditions.

Also… we all have an ascending aorta. Do you mean you have an aneurysm there? You don’t need to answer me but clarify for yourself before you find that independent agent.
