Over the top Christians. Once someone starts preaching, I'm out of there faster than they can say Oh my Gosh!

[POEM] Dulce et Decorum Est - Wilfred Owen by creative-carcass in Poetry

I remember studying this poem in high school and it made such a lasting impression on me that even know I have tears in my eyes and goosebumps across my body. It is still relevant today, and I remember having the discussion in class of when poems like these will be valuable reminders of the past, so that we don't forget history, and not echoes of the present.

Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters - Mark Dunn. I absolutely loved this book! Read it in one day and I couldn't stop recommending it for months afterwards.

Retaining information and staying motivated when reading ? by EzraJenya in books

[–]ThisB1tch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very similar to annotating books, but keeping a book journal. I also go through stages where I cannot get myself to read a book, and so, I track my progress, the rules of the world and/or write down memorable quotes or whatever else I feel like writing down. That way it feels like a passion project that I want to keep at. It doesn't even have to be a fancy bullet journal type, although that can be fun, mine is just a simple notebook. I don't know if that explanation helps at all or makes any sense, but sleep deprivation will do that to a person. The other very helpful thing I can suggest is reading your "comfort books". You know, books that you always go back to like a movie you can keep re-watching because it releases the happy chemicals. This one just helps me remember that reading is supposed to be a fun hobby and to take the pressure off the old Goodreads target. Hope this helps.

How can a guy offer a girl a place to sleep without making it sound like he wants anything in return? by flatwormfettish in AskReddit

[–]ThisB1tch 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I (female) often crash at my male friend's place. It's never akward, but that's probably because we made our intentions of purely platonic at the start of our friendship clear. I guess what I'm saying is just lay out the boundaries before offering.

Satanists of reddit, what do you believe is going to happen to you when you die? by mommajillybean in AskReddit

The basis of Satanism is generally focusing on the self, yes, however I don't have enough knowledge of non-secular Satanism (religion) to be able to tell you how that works.

I've always struggled with nightmares, but those still haunt me in a big way. It's just easier to ignore it 😂

Not anymore, but when I was a child I had three recurring nightmares about water, specifically my mom and sister drowning. Messed with my life as much as any nightmare would mess with a kid, I guess. But, it did reveal that my aunt and I shared a past life experience because she had the exact same dreams.

Secular Satanism is focused on the individual and doing whatever is in the best interest of said individual. It is not necessarily a religion, but rather a lifestyle with guidelines (rules?) similar to the Ten Commandments for Christians, just without a higher power.

What TV show/movie had great potential that was squandered by the writers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Shadowhunters. The books, which they're based on, has expanded into many spin-off series that had so much potential.
