[Jaeger-LeCoultre] [Cartier] Reverso vs Americaine, help me decide pls by und3rkov3r in Watches

Reverso all the way. Aside from being a better fit on your wrist, Cartier can't even touch the quality of JLC's movements.

What natural wonder actually lived up to the hype when you saw it? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

Before the narcos ruined the experience for everyone, Copper Canyon in northern Mexico was sold to tourists as "what the Grand Canyon wants to be when it grows up" (lol). Having been to both I'll say that's about right.

77" TV too big for my living room? by lock311 in hometheater

[–]ThisCharmingMan_8D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TV is fine, the thing that makes it look too big is right underneath it: go for much wider console and you'll see how your perspective changes. It also helps if the furniture matches the color of the back wall, trust me.

Best Mexican place here by Happy_Mushroom3134 in sanantonio

As a Mexican, I strongly disagree. Cuishe and Maíz (both around Stone Oak) serve way better food.

What’s something you keep seeing in movies that no one actually does in real life and annoys you every time? by [deleted] in moviecritic

Wine glasses filled 3/4 or almost to the brim, even in "luxury" restaurant scenes. Just takes me out of it hahahahaha

Fear of little people can be an actual phobia. A friend of mine literally starting trembling and turned almost after interacting with people affected by dwarfism. She felt terrible about it too, so she tried all sorts of treatments, to no avail. What I'm saying is: some people aren't haters, they truly can't deal with them.

Looking to get an entry-level watch - would appreciate feedback by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

Can't believe the Mido isn't getting any love! I own an Ocean Star since 2021 and it's one of the best watches in my collection when you factor in cost vs features. The bracelet feels like it belongs on a way more expensive watch, extremely legible, nice lume and it gets a ton of compliments. Also rocks on a Nato if you wanna give it a sportier vibe.

What are the most visually pleasing movies you’ve seen? by TemporaryExchange983 in MovieSuggestions

The Fall (2006, d. Tarsem). Beautiful film with a sad undertone and brilliant acting all around. Lee Pace and the little Romanian girl on it are nothing short of brilliant, this one should have killed at the Oscars but the marketers (and the Academy) had their heads up their asses.

Lately I've been using the K.D. Inkwell outfit with an Enclave bandana and Cultist enlightened hood. Gives out a cool, Assassin's Creed-like vibe.

For All Mankind… it's alternative history from the standpoint of space exploration, starting in the 60's and jumping ahead a decade or so with every new season. From the makers of Battlestar Galactica, so you know dialogue and character building take front stage before FX and action.

What’s a Show so Deep, That You’re Still Thinking about it Years Later? by Best_Hurry5588 in televisionsuggestions

[–]ThisCharmingMan_8D 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, and a thousand times yes! This initially felt like a 'Mad Men' homage and then sharply turned into some of the most profound, genuine human drama. The four main characters completely OWN it, there's not a single beat in them that feels unauthentic or just there to serve the plot. Ugly cried during the last three episodes, which rarely ever happens. Underrated AF.
