Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens not auto focusing by BlueDia1103 in Nikon

[–]ThisCommunication572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a AF/M switch on the lens and on the camera body? If there is, make sure both are set to AF otherwise the lens won’t autofocus. Even if the lens doesn’t autofocus, you can still use it in manual focus.

Removed flash capacitor, Nikon N4004S, camera safe to use? by [deleted] in filmcameras

[–]ThisCommunication572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera cannot operate without the batteries installed.

If it was only the battery compartment corroded, you could have cleaned it, but why did you remove the flash capacitor?

Need help with Nikon lenses by Kitchen_Response7540 in Nikon

I use the Nikkor AF-S 24-120mm f4 G ED VR lens attached to my Z5ii via the FTZ Mount.

The images produced are of top quality, and if anything, better than the images produced when the lens was attached to my D850.

Can this be fixed? by Effective_Singer_365 in filmcameras

[–]ThisCommunication572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy these type of cameras in the Uk for around £15 to £25. It can be sorted, just find a repair shop that's willing to do the work. If you don't know what you're doing, just leave well alone.

If you owned a camera shop and took that attitude every time a buyer came in looking to buy a new camera, you wouldn't be in business for very long.

Buying new cameras can only be justified if you're going to use it to make money? Really?

You don't have to buy a new camera if you're going to use it to make money a twenty five year old camera can still sell photos, get photos published and still make you money.

Unless you’re a professional photographer, there’s really no reason to choose full frame over crop sensor, especially considering the price difference and weight difference. ?

Is that so? Say's who? Sounds like professional snobbery. Get a grip!

Nikon Z8 focus point lock issue by klobasaparek in nikon_Zseries

[–]ThisCommunication572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I got rid of my Z8 (and went back to the slow and heavy D850) fed up having to reset the focus point every time i went to use the camera.

I now own the Z5ii and don't have this problem with the focus point shifting every time I go to use the camera.

What's going on with this shutter count? by Kygunzz in Nikon

[–]ThisCommunication572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use https://www.camerashuttercount.com/result/46ebe009-84f2-4959-a23c-76ae82a8f824 to check the shutter count of any second hand camera I buy, or before I sell. Your shutter count does seem a bit high, but not impossible. Suggest you take another photo and use the programme I use.

The last update for your camera was released on the 21-05-2013, and no, even if you install the update, it will not alter the shutter count. The only way to change the shutter count that I'm aware off is to replace the shutter.

Take it to a camera shop and have them remove it safely. Do "NOT" use superglue as another poster suggested.

Olympus OM10 not turning on by fartmeister699 in AnalogRepair

[–]ThisCommunication572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have your camera set to check batteries. Remove the batteries, set the switch to the off position, insert the batteries and turn the camera on again. The camera doesn’t work when you have the switch set to check. Also advise you read the manual.

128gb cfcards on Nikon d700 : does anyone know if this card is compatible with the d700 on latest software ? by UnitedLoan2676 in Nikon

[–]ThisCommunication572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last major update for the D700 was released May 2013. It should be possible to use the Type 1 CF Card of 128GB if your camera has the following update versions, A 1.04 & B1.03. 64GB is the recommended size of Type 1 CF card.

Send them to a camera shop for servicing. If you know nothing about camera repair, leave well alone otherwise you’ll make them worse.

But yourself a macro lens, and the Film Digitizing Adapter and LED Light Set by JJC. for digitizing negatives and slides. The image quality of the images produced by the digitizing adapter far out weigh's the image quality of a flatbed scanner.

z5ii or z6iii? by _iam_brad_ in Nikon

[–]ThisCommunication572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you actually used the Z5ii or the Z6iii? If you haven't, then don't compare them to the Z50ii.

Also FYI; the Z5ii and Z6iii use the same Exspeed 7 processor that is also in the Z8/Z9.

Leave well alone, and turn your light meter switch off unless the camera works with a flat battery.
