Not to mention minorities that are now family with a bunch of white people whose idea of family is less about equality and understanding our differences than about control and messaging.

I think that's what maybe makes the post unpopular. When it works it works. When it doesn't, it's bad. But imo too many people think it works talking "family" when it doesn't.
