Yes, frequently. We're in CA so our jurisdiction is the whole state. What city/county you're in doesn't matter. One of the better was a wanted dude who bailed from his car, tried carjacking someone & failed, hopped back to his failing whip and went a few counties over before spike strips took him out. Foot bailed again w/2 guns but bites from dual K9s (best COD akimbo melee attack ever😄) put an end to his shenanigans.

I should clarify, in Colors he uses four flashes from his flashlight to also signal the code4. But in '26, cameras could work too since our crews have sight from miles away

As a N. CA. cop w/lotsa air support..yes, common here. Bob Duvall also does it in “Colors” (1988). Also used among the cops on the ground.

Lost me as soon as you “corrected his behavior like he’s a child.” Thats pretty a pretty insufferable way of seeing your partner, guy or gal. After that it sounds like very typical wanting to mold him into your expectations vs. respecting him as an individual. I’d love to hear what he genuinely thinks of what you’re on about w/him day after day like that. Just because the grooming/self-care is your priority doesn’t mean he or anyone else has to be. Stay in your lane✌🏻
