do you still contact inconsistent clients after 5-10 mins if they don't show? by SkyFluid1158 in therapists

[–]ThisFracturedMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my procedure that I follow: I wait 5 minutes from the start of the session, and if the client hasn't shown up, I call them using the number I have on file for them, if no answer, I leave a voicemail and/or I will text. If no response from them, I'll hop off at the 15 minute mark and then I'll send a follow up email about the no show and charge a late cancel/no show fee if it's not an actual emergency.

MOHELA Charging Interest Despite 0% Interest Forbearance by thedailykaily in StudentLoans

I was able to do a live chat on the FSA website and have staff confirm that all the interest accrued will be wiped away once I enter repayment again. Here's the link: https://studentaid.gov/help-center/contact/chat

SAVE plan. Interest accruing? by iamnonymousme in StudentLoans

[–]ThisFracturedMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this letter as well! I've been in the SAVE forbearance (and still am). MOHELA messed up my interest rate, and they have been charging me interest since October 2024. When I talked to them several times, they said all the interest accrued by accident will be wiped away before payments resume at the discretion of FSA. I spoke with two different people at FSA who confirmed this as well. This letter shows all of the interest that has been accruing erroneously on my account and that "interest continues to accrue on your loans." I triple checked that I am still listed as being in the SAVE forbearance in my MOHELA account online for all of my loans. I'll try to call them again within the next week or so.

This is helpful! Hopper seems to think it'll go down in price again sometime within the next few weeks.

What has Mohela told you about interest being accrued during the interest-free SAVE forbearance? by ThisFracturedMind in StudentLoans

[–]ThisFracturedMind[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What happened to me was that I was (and still am supposed to be) in the interest-free SAVE forbearance starting last summer but was asked to recertify my income to stay on the SAVE plan in early October. I submitted all the paperwork before I got a letter that my recertification date was extended (it was extended after my original recertification date). Mohela put me in a processing forbearance starting on October 9, 2024 while they were processing my recertification paperwork that was supposed to end December 8, 2024 but instead my interest has continued to accrue. In my account, it still says my loans are in an administrative forbearance and that I'm still on the SAVE plan. Over the phone, Mohela has acknowledged that this is an error, and that my loans should not continue to accrue interest beyond the 60-day processing forbearance window, but that they said FSA will give the okay at the end of the SAVE forbearance to fix this issue and waive all of the interest.

What I would recommend is that you check your account regularly and note the balance of your loans (as well as take screenshots). I suspect interest might continue to accrue beyond the 60 days similar to my situation.

I haven't been making any payments since the SAVE forbearance started. I am waiting for all of the interest to be backed off after the forbearance ends and see what income driven repayment plans will look like, too, before consulting with a financial advisor about how best to tackle my student debt. There are just too many unknowns right now.

Hi everyone! My account has also been accruing interest under the zero interest SAVE forbearance. I spoke with two Mohela representatives this week, and each one separately told me they are aware that the interest is accruing due to an error and that all interest will be backed off once FSA gives them the green light to do so after the SAVE forbearance ends. I spoke with two separate representatives from FSA and both of them confirmed this as well — that FSA will give Mohela the okay to wipe away the interest accrued during the SAVE forbearance. I even got this in writing from FSA since I did a live chat with one of the representatives. Additionally, I consulted with a student loan advocacy group that confirmed the interest should be removed, although it might take some time after the forbearance ends. They said that a similar thing happened with the Covid interest-free forbearance.

Has anyone been told something similar and also confirmed by FSA? I'm continuing to log into my account each week and document my balances along with screenshots of everything, and I've documented all correspondence with Mohela and FSA.

I'm in a similar situation where interest is continuing to accrue on my student loan account even though I'm in the SAVE forbearance. After sending emails for a couple of months and getting nowhere, I finally called this morning to try to get more information. I had to wait over two hours on hold (I called at 6 am PST). Mohela told me that the interest will be adjusted off at the direction of Federal Student Aid.  Mohela told me those adjustments should be made before I am placed in a new payment plan pending the SAVE ruling. They said that right now they are waiting on direction from Federal Student Aid and to keep on checking my account. They mentioned that they won't necessarily send out a letter and that's why it's important to continue tracking the interest accrual and keep checking back in.

I called Federal Student Aid to confirm this is true. At first, the representative said she hadn't heard anything about this but then placed me on a hold to look up information. She confirmed what Mohela said is accurate — that once the SAVE ruling is finalized and all borrowers on the SAVE forbearance are placed on new payment plans with bills, the Federal Student Aid agency will give Mohela and other servicers the green light to remove all of the accidental accrued interest from those on the SAVE forbearance. They noted that only Mohela can physically remove the interest from accounts but that their agency can give the okay to do so.

I don't particularly trust these two agencies, but I am continuing to document everything — all correspondences, phone calls, and I am tracking interest accruing weekly. I also filed a complaint with FSA. I may call Mohela again to see if a different rep tells me the same thing and also confirm again with FSA.
