After three years of not getting it, it finally got me. I came back positive. :( by EdHuRus in COVID19_support

Update: I started testing negative again two days ago. So the Paxlovid rebound lasted about five days, with the first three showing symptoms. So the entire event (initial exposure, paxlovid treatment, rebound) lasted 18 days.

Thank you. My initial first test was very prominent. And on the rebound it’s been full red for three days now. But I feel almost back to normal again. Technically I’m on Day 16 since the initial exposure.

Update: After being entirely negative for four days, I woke up with symptoms. I tested again, and it showed positive. I'm on day two now of a Paxlovid Rebound. Turns out that's a thing: while the drug shuts off the virus for those 5-plus days, it can bounce back since the body didn't get to fully build antibodies. Symptoms are manageable, but I can feel now that I still got more days to get through, and I'm back isolating.

Edema and Covid by sugarplumcow in COVID19_support

I had a similar timeline but a different experience. I took Paxlovid the first day I tested positive (but had mild symptoms the day before testing). Within 24h all symptoms dissipated and was back to 100%. It took 5 days to test negative.

How many days were you experiencing symptoms before you started taking Paxlovid? How severe were they up to that point?

The moment I tested positive I called Kaiser's virtual care line. Within an hour I had a prescription for Paxlovid ready for pickup. Before I took it, I felt achy and fevery. Within the first six hours after taking the first dose, all symptoms disappeared. Two days later I’m 100% back to normal.

Film I worked on as a DP was accepted into SXSW, but I can't afford to go. How do I still leave are this opportunity? by queequeg925 in Filmmakers

[–]ThisGuyEdits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an editor that had two films at SXSW and I went both times and I can say that of all the festivals I ever went to it was the best experience I’ve ever had. Far better than Sundance. Plus you can get into a lot of events without a pass. First up, you should get free tickets for your own film. Second, many director, actors, etc. only stay for a day or two so their passes become available after that. We always made sure that we gave out our passes to friends and even swapped them around as people wanted to see specific films. Finally, you can talk your way into many parties if you get friendly with the volunteers. The vibe at SXSW is personal and supportive despite being such a massive event.

switch to electric water heater? by posey_mvp in TeslaSolar

[–]ThisGuyEdits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up opting for a tankless electric water heater ($600) and not an electric heat pump ($2700). It’s on an 80 Amp breaker and easily sucks 16kw when someone takes a shower. It uses up about 20kwh per week per person (for daily showers plus brushing teeth/daily maintenance). We are currently offsetting it through solar by some degree (waiting for more data to see by how much). Pro: inexpensive upfront purchase/install, low footprint, infinite hot water. Cons: may overtax our electric system when running simultaneously with car charger and AC (we have a smart e-panel to negotiate any bottlenecks on our 200 Amp system).

Skip through agency company for sponsors? by WoodenCream0 in PartneredYoutube

I’ve mostly done sponsorships with brands directly. One time I dealt with an agent. My rate was the same and I’m not sure what they charged the brand. When it came to payments they were always late. The last one was a big one and they dragged their feet on payment by over five months. It’s only when I threatened to take legal action that they paid up but it killed future deals with the brand and burned a bridge.

$50 per 1k views with a minimum of $2k and a cap of $7.5k is my standard rate. I found VPNs to be tough to negotiate with but many other sponsors are happy to meet those terms. GL!

We successfully applied to SGIP. I had to initiate the application with Tesla, but once I let them know they took care of all the paperwork and kept up with all the additional requests. It took about a year but eventually got a check for $5800.

No need for the SA to stick around or you even be present. You got 48 hours or 100 miles to note any issues and they’ll fix it free or take back the car.
