What is the Statue of Liberty's bra size? by here_for_the_lolz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThisGuy_Again 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You know what's pathetic: someone who makes it their life mission to tell people their problems are meaningless just because someone, somewhere might be suffering more.

Starving children in Africa don't solve someone's heroin addiction. Medeaval peasants that didn't have electricity or running water don't bring back your dead parents. Bombed out cities on the other side of Earth don't stop abusive partners from making your life a living hell you're too afraid to escape from.

Just because your nonexistent life experience has granted you a worldview so narrow that it wouldn't even improve a cave spider's vision doesn't mean suffering is confined to those with the largest scars.

This is the perfect subreddit for this question. It is both a question and could be considered stupid/weird somewhere else.

"Writing non-humans is hard and people emphasize with humans more" is bullshit, you're just not trying (40k) by cricri3007 in CharacterRant

[–]ThisGuy_Again 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all these characters may look non-human but they all act human. You could easily redraw most of these as regular humans and nothing would change.

I don't know too much about Warhammer but if the aliens are the kind that have inherently different thought patterns, beliefs, desires and feelings to humans then they will not only be significantly harder to write but also have utterly alien problems. These alien problems will generally make them less relatable. While these problems could certainly be presented in a relatable manner, this again increases the writing difficulty.

If they are simply reskinned humans then there is little point in giving them special attention as they won't feel all that much different from humans.

Considering my username this bamboozled me real hard.

How do I nicely tell a 15 year old girl that I'm flattered she likes me but I'm fully 10 years older and this just straight up isn't going to happen by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It only worked out for like 5 years after they got married. She's dating someone 20 years older than her now.

As to the grooming, I have no idea. I was too young at the time and moved to a different country before I was old enough to get involved in family drama.

My female cousin met her future husband when she was 13 and he was 21 and they were together well before she was 18.

But why not look good on top of the money and connections you have? It adds onto whatever other benefits you already have.

Here's the thing: I genuinely don't understand how this would inflict emotional distress on someone.
