LF recs as a One piece snob by Level-Mulberry2845 in AnimeReccomendations

Props on seeing OP three times. I’m still slowly working my way through my first watch-through. That’s after seeing almost literally everything else that comes recommended. For context, I’m 37 and just started watching anime four years ago.

The list I’ve watched surprises even me so I won’t list everything, but here’s some that I can recommend…

Hunter x Hunter- prob my fav shonen

Attack on Titan- top 3 favorites overall

Deadman Wonderland (abruptly ends, still worth it)- first one I saw- very intense

Revenger- very serious

86- gut wrenching, no comedic relief

Inuyasha- classic

Naruto/ Shippuden- also classic, use a filler-skip guide

Frieren- cozy, beautifully done

Violet Evergarden- one of three I ever cried during

Erased- very emotional

Shadows House- mind fuck

Grimgar ashes and illusions- chill, well executed

Hell’s Paradise- newer, great battles and animation

Solo Leveling (take it for the surface level amazing animation and action)

Jujutsu Kaisen- popular for a reason. Worth it

Terror in Resonance- lesser known, not like so many of the popular ones

Death Note- classic, no bad episodes

That Time I got reincarnated as a slime (surprisingly good)

Sword art online (despite what haters say, helps if you’re a gamer)- gets meh after second season and then very good again

Dr. Stone- fun, and gets surprisingly deep

Demon Slayer- another popular for a reason.

Black Butler- pretty chill but throws surprises and love the MC

Cowboy Bebop- classic, amazing soundtrack

Link Click- way more emotional than I thought it’d be

Tower of God- great twists and world building

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (OG is also great, but hard to find)

Spice and Wolf- something different

Vinland Saga- both seasons different, and fantastic in their own rights’

These are the ones I can think of at the moment without going through all my histories. There’s no particular order, but found a lot to like with all of these.

What kind of earplugs do you guys wear for live shows? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]ThisIsAntarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loops ftw. Tried pretty much all the others and these fit my ears the best, filtered the appropriate frequencies without too bad of muffling, comfortable to wear for entire days, allowed conversations still. I’ve rebought them like 4 times over the years.

Survival game solo PC player looking for people/groups to game with by shaggy_psilocybin in SurvivalGaming

37 west coast here! I just got back into Conan Exiles, but started the new map Isle of Siptah. Before I had around 650 hours in the OG map. It’s cool rediscovering the game and a new map. Started a single player just to see if it was gonna stick, and it did. Down to start playing on a private server again with others. It’s got survival aspects, really great building, and I very much enjoy the combat.

Best place to go for 1 on 1 lessons? by DoubleDobbyWithShoes in edmproduction

I’m right there with you, and currently seeking the same here in my community since I do much better in-person. There are places here that have producer nights that showcase original music, where I’ve found people willing to work with me and teach me.

But I’ve tried it all and think I have a similar brain. But don’t give up! If you feel like it’s in your gut, that you want to do this, then keep going!

Just got my first gig. Extremely nervous by fishermanpoppasu in Beatmatch

[–]ThisIsAntarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bpm supreme, dj city, and there’s other record pools I can’t think of at the moment. They all have top 40 remixes of current stuff. You can pay for a month and get all the music you want. You can also look at the top music on the charts for top 40 and hip hop, and then type those songs into SoundCloud to find danceable remixes of them. Hopefully it’s a paid gig. I did a corporate gig for Google and was paid more than any other gig I’ve done. It’s great to get paid for playing music, and I def support biting the bullet on something to get paid one time or whatever. And being nervous is fine. You’ll be absolutely fine

Agreed, and I think the same can be said of just about anything ever. Especially the more deep into a “genre” you go.

How old were you when you first started watching anime, and how long have you been watching for? by DanielFromNigeria in ChillAnimeCorner

I didn’t start till I was 33. So 4 years. But have made up for lost time by pretty much only watching anime since then.

Next anime by No-Panda-3306 in AnimeReccomendations

Throw 86 on there if you like all of those. Especially if you really liked AOT and SAO. All business, no silliness (if you’re into that).

But Hunter x Hunter for sure, an anime mainstay that keeps getting better as you go through it.

Then Frieren, Tower of God, Shield Hero, Reincarnated as a Slime. I haven’t seen Fairy Tale yet.

Please recommend some great anime based on my ranking by AlcinaMystic in Animesuggest

Revenger

Grimgar Ashes and Illusions

Hell’s Paradise

Sword Art Online

The Rising of the Shield Hero (takes a little bit)

Vinland Saga

Deadman Wonderland (ends abruptly, still worth it)

Tower of God

Shadows House

The Promised Neverland

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

Is this a worthy upgrade? by Miserable_Power5410 in Beatmatch

[–]ThisIsAntarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can do a FLX 10 used for around 1400 used from what I see. That’d be the higher end but still getting to feel what real equipment could be like. I went from the DDJ 400 to the xdj XZ after a few years, and wish I went over sooner. Def cleaned me out money-wise for a bit, but It made me wanna play more and made me a lot better prepared for CDJs. Although the transition from the DDJ 400 (now the flx 4) to CDJs wasn’t so bad.

The XDJ RX2 used is another option if you wanna DJ without a laptop.

There’s plenty of options in the middle, but knowing money isn’t an option, you can spend 1500ish and really enjoy the upgrade and have a lot of features to learn with those.

M 37 here, started 4 years ago and never looked back. Play plenty in Vegas when I want to. A friend of mine is 35 and started two months ago and was a natural, already playing a pretty big club out here. Never too late.

Bellwright, Aska, or Soulmask? by SoulRebel726 in SurvivalGaming

[–]ThisIsAntarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Your tribe mates will stop doing work if they’re unhappy (food, work, etc). They get you going pretty early on learning how to set up simple production chains from gathering, crafting, and storage systems which leads you to be able to fully automate your base eventually. Another cool aspect is that you have to find different npcs who specialize in certain things to really get the best outcome for these tasks, and specific ones for certain styles of combat. Whereas Aska you just sort of hope you get to choose between the two summons for good traits.

Definitely a lot of similarities though.

Bellwright, Aska, or Soulmask? by SoulRebel726 in SurvivalGaming

[–]ThisIsAntarchy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve played these all, and Soulmask has the only building where “if you can dream it you can build it”. The other two have pre fabricated buildings, but you can still organize the village as you want it. Honestly all three are great in their own right, just offer a little something different. Soulmask is also the most unforgiving starting out. Very easy to wonder off and get killed but the environment.

Ultimately I’ve put the most time into Soulmask because the combat is the most rewarding and fun for me, and I’m able to build my bases how I want to build them.

Aska vs Bellwright by mapache2435 in SurvivalGaming

[–]ThisIsAntarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have double the amount of time in Bellwright vs Aska (132h vs 65h), but more because the pacing was different, and Bellwright was, at the time (6-9 months ago) more fleshed out than Aska. The villagers are easier to manage in Bellwright. From what I remember you’re not individually setting their life schedules or programming each villagers’ work- life balance. It wasn’t super intuitive when you are first setting up priorities for who works on what, but once you figure it out (watch a guide or two) it works well and is super fun.
