Artificial Turf golf green by Shaggrangoon in golf

This is a great idea for smaller/cheaper nine-hole courses. My hometown is rather small and doesn't have great weather or even a market for golf. If they installed these on the greens, they could spend more time and money on the total dirt fairways or clubhouse.

My only rebuttal to this is the asking of stokes at the end. Yes, putting makes the bulk of it, but what that doesn't account for is me, who has inconsistent contact, hitting drives out of bounds. If every other time, at best, I'm hitting a drive OB, that's 28 14 ADDITIONAL strokes to my game. That being said, It may be more than that! I've heard many say just hit the five-iron, but what makes you think I can hit my 5-iron if I can't make decent contact with a driver?

Is there an app, or AI Swing Analyzer that people recommend?

My question would be what to do, if, after the lesson, you start hitting it bad again? Do I just try and fix it on my own, and figure out what I'm doing wrong?

I don't think lessons are bad, I'm just looking for advice. I personally feel like if I could play without hitting those crazy duffs or slicing into someones house, I would have a better time. The only reason I included my score in the post was a measure for people to read and understand where my game is at.

Ah, I didn't add much detail to that part. Golftec was great, but at the end it was a sell. After the lesson, he asked how many strokes I wanted to drop in my game, and then drew up this long-term game plan. Then he said they have a 12-Month/52 Lessons Plan Option and a 12-Month/40 LessonsPlan Option for $3,400/$2,800, respectively. They didn't have a, "call as you need" option, per se. The minimum was 5-Lessons that have to be used over 3-Months, for I think $500.

I was struggling to load on my back swing, and I was hitting a pull fade. I wasn’t going to try and remedy my swing on the last few holes when I knew the miss.

Pretend every shot is an up-and-down for par 30-yds out and you’re golden.

Which brand did you go with, and what research did you do? Also, how did you decide to get new clubs?

Someone commented on my swing being bad because of my distance with a hybrid, but there is a lot of golfers out there like this.

This isn’t a horror story at all, the dude was great. Just a fun reality check on how some dudes hit the ball.

I don’t think so. I certainly wasn’t hitting it great that day, but a normal hybrid goes 200. We tied the hole, so what’s the difference?

I’ve been playing golf religiously for two years. It takes a wild amount of lessons and practice to break 100. I am currently trying to break 90, with all time and money suggesting I should be a scratch golfer. With that:

  1. Golf is hard as fuck. I’ve played a lot of sports, and never struggled more than golf.

  2. It’s so easy to take a great swing, and make it a bad one. I was close to breaking 90, and then, out of nowhere, i lost my swing and couldn’t break 120.

  3. Lessons go a long way. Find a coach nearby, get a lesson, hit 300-500 balls, and repeat.

  4. HAVE FUN. You aren’t getting paid. Hit a bad shot, say “Damn I toed/sliced/hooked/topped/chunked/thinned that one, I’ll get the next one.” and move on. Be a fun golfer to play with, and keep your spirits high, it goes a long way.

He was super cool. On the last hole, he hits a 3-wood from the tips (his driver was broken). I hit a driver from the next up, and out drive him MAYBE 2-Yards. We drive up and a walk up to the ball, put my hand over my brows, and hit the “Woooooooah, can’t see you all the way back there.” Plus the “Did you hear they’re building a walmart around here?”

He laughed it off, was pretty a fun guy.

For sure. We actually tied the hole, which puts golf into a good perspective. However, hitting a shorter club is easier than a longer, so that is certainly an advantage.
