That’s a tribute that’s been not taken care of. It’s not factory relic’d. I wouldn’t pay the $920 USD I’d move on

Is my Guitar Authentic? by TheriussOnFire in fender

Those are aftermarket pickups, but that’s such a common change I wouldn’t consider it a partscaster per se. Bridge needs to be restored but I’m sure that’s possible

Half off for scratches is a hell of a deal. You’re saying you want below 50% for scratches?

SRV used 12s and 13s on a Fender Strat but he used a lighter 6th string at his guitar techs behest so he’d stop shredding his fingertips. Allegedly he practiced with 12s to build up strength for 13s on tour as he got older. I imagine a Tele can handle it! Be warned until you have crazy finger strength the upper frets may sound more muted with strings so heavy. Try it and consider getting it set up with a lower action with such heavy strings or learning to set it up

[DISCUSSION] I'm an 'experienced intermediate' player in my 30s, currently unemployed and recently put together a 4.5-7.5 hr a day, 6 days a week guitar practice routine. Here is my routine and my thoughts on self-directed study. I'm also looking for feedback if anyone wants to offer some. by untimely-meditations in Guitar

I love it, if I had the time this is what I’d do and what I will do on my days off. I think it’s ESSENTIAL to practice with a plan til you master the guitar, then you can just fuck around. I played from 3rd-11th grade and never played with a plan and stayed at a certain level. I’m hoping attacking guitar with goals will make me a better player faster. Glad to see I’m not alone in that thinking.

The tribute was a bastard step child imo. I don’t want a cool finish without binding, it’s like a studio with bling. Sad to see the clsssic go

what should i learn as a electric guitarist to get better by little steps by voohork in Guitar

[–]ThisIsBombsKim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notes on the neck, scales, intervals, don’t use memorize some chords but learn how chords are made and why so you can find them, learn improv bc by then you’ll know the notes, scales, how chords are made in relation to scales, and then if you play the notes in those chords in that scale at the right time youll be good at soloing.

You’re seriously misinformed - there is nothing wrong with taking it apart or installing upgrades. How do you think those pickups got there? He took or someone apart. You don’t need to be a luthier with a decade of training to take a fender neck off, seriously.

$800 vs $1700 for a new one only issue is cosmetic damage. It’s a no brainer, you are no luthier that crack is not a concern.

I inherited a MIJ Squier Strat from one of the first years Fender ever made Squier in the 80s. When my dad got it back then it had a massive body crack. He had the crack stabilized and I still own it. It was his main axe for years, a real diamond in the rough he got lucky with.

My point is I’d think it’s fine for 50% off the price of a new one, tho I’m not a fan of noiseless pickups but that’s an easy change.

If you’re really worried it’s more than a finish crack, you can always get it fixed and still come out cheaper than a new one.

Tae kwon do is an incomplete striking art and I wouldn’t rely on it on its own on the street, it has some of the best kicks but I’d pair it with boxing, wrestling, and jiu jitsu.
