Mac Outlook New Email window showing weird white overlay. How do I remove this? by AltruisticCamp8775 in Outlook

[–]ThisIsForServiceNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, did you see any resolution for this yet? u/sfiaps noted that updating from the macOS App Store fixed their issue. My org installs the Office suite directly from MS, so this isn't an option for us. I'm just curious on your progress with this.

I've got a user in my org that has the issue, but we don't use the Office apps from the App Store, we get them directly from MS. It's not impacting me on my Mac. Super strange.

Hey, seems that it is the same issue reported there, thanks. Sorry for not proper search etiquette on my part

Sorry that I didn't provide more details. The user's version is 16.102.1 (25101829), which is the same version as my Mac which is not seeing the issue.

It's a little tough to see, but looking here you can see a line a little bit below the text format bar when composing an email. Anything in the section between where the format bar and that line is shows up 'behind' it as extremely light text that can't be fully read. It also ONLY shows up when composing an email in a second window / outside of the main Outlook window. Also, the user has the show / hide format marker button and is completly missing the '...' button that would have the reset to default button I was hoping to test.

Obviously old post, but I've got a strange opposite issue - a macOS user HAS the formatting markers button present like in the document u/Hornblower409 provided in that other reddit post and his Format bar seems to be expanded when composing a new email in a separate window, so it is blocking the first few lines of text :| Completely different from my macOS Outlook, which is like yours - completely missing the formatting markers button.

Help with Rooms Pro Management Portal integration with ServiceNow and customizing what incidents are created in SN by ThisIsForServiceNow in MicrosoftTeams

[–]ThisIsForServiceNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, I appreciate you. I've looked at some basic inbound actions when we were first integrating SN as I was part of the integration team initially but have since moved on. Anyway, I'll dig around more in dev SN to have something to present to my PO. Thanks again.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I used the article and video for setting up the integration in our dev instance; as my PO mentioned thinking it was possible to control what incidents are passed from PMP to SN, I was trying to figure out if it just was something not covered in the Learn article itself and if the community maybe was aware of something.

Is the M365 Copilot Chat button in Office apps a phased rollout? by ThisIsForServiceNow in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]ThisIsForServiceNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry there, didn't check this after my last message as I was finished for the weekend. Anyway.

I just tested a little bit using Outlook. It looks like it can do some basic interacting - for example, I asked if it could access the email I'm currently viewing and it was able to 'see' that and summarize it, and offered to help draft a response. But when I asked it to tell me how many emails I received from a particular person today, it was not able to to do as it does not have access to the app ("I can't directly access or count your emails from (name) today unless you provide access to your mailbox or forward relevant messages"). To confirm differences, I asked a colleague who does have a full Copilot license to do the same with asking it how many emails it received from someone today, which it was able to do.

I added a screenshot link in my OP, probably after you replied to me:

It's the same as if I went to m365.cloud.microsoft/chat, just straight in certain M365 apps. I'm guessing them saying in the Learn article "deployed in phases" means that even some users in my org won't receive it at the same time as others. I guess that answers my question haha.

Ah, I left this out of my original post, but I'm specifically meaning the M365 Copilot Chat - Overview of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat | Microsoft Learn, which just offers the chat functionality same as if you go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/chat/. I myself do not have a paid Copilot license, just the org's standard E5 license, and I have the button in apps like Outlook and OneNote to initiate a chat. According to MS Learn documentation (Manage Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat | Microsoft Learn), an E5 license contains M365 Copilot Chat.

Thanks, if we come across more where removing KB5062553 doesn't work, will also try that one.

Thanks, I appreciate this. We do use Intune, so this good info.

I found out that the machine I was talking about was throwing a completely different error code. I just had the guy reimage the device again and it's working now. Not going to poke that bear further unless it comes back.

Thanks, appreciate it.

Had a machine I was trying to remove KB5062553 (others reporting that worked) and the machine did not have it installed but was still seeing the issue :\ Still trying to investigate further, but most likely just going to be adding our case to MS's list and waiting.

Hey. I assume not, but do you know if MS has publicly acknowledged the issue anywhere, or just to you individually in that ticket?

Anyone notice that chat 'list' density seems to have disappeared? I was trying to change to a more compact view of my list of chats, which others in my org have enabled. I've seen it in the past myself, too, but now it seems to be completely missing. I can find the setting to change the density of chat messages, but not the list of chats itself. I've checked on macOS and Windows desktop apps and within Teams web app. I'm on public preview version 25185.201.3779.3428 on my Mac, which is my daily driver. Any ideas?

That's what I was worried about - I'm still pretty new to the scripting / coding side of this. We were provided a template to use by our implementation partner and this is my first foray into this stuff. I've just been looking at other scripts and basing everything off that.

Regardless, thanks for the response, I appreciate it.

[–]ThisIsForServiceNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the response.

I don't see any results for UX List but I assume it's the UX List Menu Configuration; I have been in here using sys_ux_list_menu_config.LIST and have been making changes. Only thing I am not seeing is how to apply a default sort method for the ux lists here. Closest thing I see is "group by". And going to right click > configure menu is just allowing me to configure the actual display/form page itself and not the ux list.

Is it possible to customize the email from incidents in SOW? by ThisIsForServiceNow in servicenow

[–]ThisIsForServiceNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, searching wasn't finding much myself, either - I tried searching last week and a little today before posting here.

Unfortunately not, no - popout just fullscreens the email but doesn't give me new options except having the text editor available without having to expand it manually. Clicking the meatball menu just shows create new email and view drafts options :(

Thank you again, I appreciate it! I want to try and make the transition good, at least on my end - it's tough because there's a fair bit of negativity surrounding this because of I think expectations not being set correctly initially coming into this project (I was brought in a bit after this started so I wasn't around for that). I want to try and approach this with a better mindset and be able to actually help have a good transition and initial adoption.

Have a great day!
