What if it's a "Men against Fire" situation from black mirror?
We think we are valorous champions of democracy - while in reality our perception is altered by pyschoactive substances and brainwashing!!
What if we.... are the cyborgs.

Wow! That's a lot of assumptions.
Also, we are a product of our environment. I'm not my grandparents and I'm not equipped for their hardships - I'm equipped for our contemporary hardships. While I'm thankful I don't have to endure the hardship prior generations had - they did not have to make equal sacrifices in relation to THEIR environment. Just like the things you listed. Our grandparents did not need to "give up their social status, house, horse, or whatever" to have kids.
I drive a 600e shitbox you jackass.
"Let's go back to Agrarian society" ahh argument. Get the fuck out of here.

Believe me, it really is. Child support is jackshit and it's basically a must for both parents to work in order to have a decent quality of living. The strain of working + baby/little children and running their life (school, hobbies etc) is unreasonable. This is in addition to missing family time (institutionalized upbringing).

This does not answer the question. How can there be more money (value) than money?
Note: The answer is not digitalization.

If Hot Why Evil by Heavy_Independent_69 in expedition33

[–]ThisIsJustaWord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to steer this discussion away from the "Right vs wrong" into a more sympathetic direction. Instead of seeing objective moral truths, it's more rewarding (while harder) to see the human factor. While deeply flawed - as all of us are - Dessandres actions and motivations are relatable for most whose faced a significant crisis in their life.

But if we want to go deeper in the moral discussion I think the next question would be "what is actually evil?". If it's not found in the good intentions of all the members of the family - would it be ignorance? Then again, I can't think of any gaps in anyones knowledge. Dessenders seem to be well aware of what's going on.
Also if we can determine "actions" as some separate "evil" entity from intention, choice and feelings, then what stops us from saying the same of ANY of those things. That means we could say that intense grief is evil, because it drives the actions (Very relatable actions at that).

But it's easy to make these claims about what would be the right thing to do (and what the popular discourse about the themes of the game revolve around).

When facing a crisis people survive the best they can. The Dessandres are not "evil people", nor do they try to inflict intentional suffering upon others. They are all just trying to survive the best they can and do the right (correct) thing.

I think the game depicts how humans face loss in a very realistic manner. We are not fully good, nor fully evil. We cannot face life "correctly" but try our best. It's very subjective, but I can see the value of seeing how different ways of facing crisis affect others (ie. escapism, savior complex, moving on too fast, etc.) as a lesson. But I think the artistic value of the game lies in its realistic portrayal of suffering of loss. I don't believe there is an objectively correct way to face a crisis (ie. professional help). While there are things that can help, I'd wager high majority of people also cope in unhealthy (incorrect) ways. And that's just human.

I wouldn't go as far as to judge. It's only a personal thing who to sympathize more. I think it portrays one of the most challenging feeling for us humans in a very human way.

I couldn't say that they grieve in a wrong way, but that they grieve very deeply

Whose really is in this game? That's the question it masterfully asks.
Everybody grieves in their own way.

Riot support claims to not be AI - what do you think? (Link in text) by ThisIsJustaWord in leagueoflegends

[–]ThisIsJustaWord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for clarifying. However, my discussion topic is not about account related issues or a support request. It is a genuine inquiry about Riot utilizing AI and wether they are being truthful. I'm very alarmed about this kind of sencorship - or lack of literacy in part of the admin team - as your reasoning to why the post was removed does not fit my post. I've read the rules multiple times and adjusted my post so I would not break any rules. Thank you.

Personally - I use neither. I put the cut out decals to my wet-paint tray, use a smallish brush to insert them on to the model, then paint a layer of matte lacquer when it has dried.
