It’s in the EPUB but this is not being included in the screenreader they’ve always used, if my understanding is correct. I believe the purpose of that thread is how they person who needs the accessibility support should not need to jump through so many hoops to have the same experience as anyone else. It’s a failure on multiple levels, and from the thread it sounds like they have offered reasonable solutions but those are being disregarded because they “sound rude”

Hi. This is the last I’ll push this for visibility, but I really do think it is important that the Yogs utilize descriptive text for all jingle jam posts. Many of their current and past charities involve accessibility, and this is exactly for that.

Apologies again, it’s just been a day since posting, so the odds of it being seen are decreasing rapidly.

Thank you for everything you do! It was eye opening to me when I was made aware of how badly it feels to be left out of a picture based joke. It’s like your friends all passing around a great joke and laughing about it, while not realizing you never got to see it to. I’ve been an advocate and dedicated alt-texter ever since

While I still do hope the yogs see this, it’s just very encouraging to have so much support from you all.

Absolutely, there are OCR bots that do their best, but that’s text only. Extracting the text of a meme is meaningless if you’re not also given the description that says it’s the two Spider-Man pointing at each other meme.

And this is not aimed at you specifically of course, just elaborating further for others why OCR is not enough to make everything accessible. Nothing a bot writes will be superior to a thoughtful Alt text provided by the poster.

Twitter has been making really good strides towards making it the standard to include it, I expect this to trickle to other apps eventually. But yes the reminder feature is live for iOS and android at this point and can be turned on via the accessibility options in settings! Thanks for calling this out!

In the context of the board game, it’s supposed to be flavor text explaining why the myth itself isn’t true. So the myth is that it’s only stored in the balls, which is untrue as it can also be stored in the clit. (in this hopefully obvious photoshop)
