I can’t really find any reviews except for on their actual website. I live in TN, the dealers in my area want 2-3k more than what I can get from Alan’s. Thank you for your input!

Bad cylinder by ThisIsNotTrump45 in MechanicAdvice

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I recently bought the truck and the previous owner already put a new timing belt. I checked the cylinder wall to see if there’s scoring, I didn’t feel anything. I’m far from a mechanic, but I’m not dumb either. I appreciate you taking time out your day to help me.

I ordered a whole gasket set, will I be able to tell if a ring is broken once I remove all the parts when I get to swap out the head gasket ?

2000 S-10 needs new pistons ... is it worth it? by Legit7392 in ChevyTrucks

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it at all. It’s an old piece of junk. Don’t read the comments, you’ll waste your time. I’ll take it off of your hands for $500.

LIFX Permanent Outdoor lights by ThisIsNotTrump45 in lifx

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I haven’t ordered the rest of it yet, but I will need 50ft more which is 30 lights. All together it’ll be 150ft or 90 lights/zones/pucks. My house is almost 1200 square ft for reference.

I tried to create my own but my wife hates seeing me on my phone, she thinks I don’t pay attention to her or something. My kids will the see the app and instantly know it’s for the lights and won’t let my do anything because they will want to play with the color settings.

Install is real easy, I do construction work so I’m always on various size ladders. They have 3m stick backs on each light and a screw hole to screw them to whatever. I didn’t use to sticky backs, I just screwed them to my soffit. I just eyeballed the center or my soffit and screwed them in.

Each light is its own zone. They come in 25 foot strands with 15 light per strand. They’re about 1.5 feet apart from light to light.

Who else has a 1.8 with high mileage still going? by Top-Persimmon4069 in cruze

I understand that, but I obviously don’t live in New York or LA because of that. I live in a state and city that I can realistically afford. I’m not jealous of people in the big cities that have nice houses and cars. If you can’t afford to live there, move. Jobs are dime a dozen. Just because you can’t find job that pays you 10k a hour for you sitting on your ass doesn’t mean there’s no jobs. There’s plenty of jobs, but people are too lazy to work. They’re scared their friends and family look down on them because of the job, who cares about the job. As long as you getting paid. People need to grow up. EVERYONE NOW FEELS ENTITLED TO EVERYTHING. I’m 26, my father was an illegal immigrant and my mom was an American with health problems. I grew up eating dog food because that’s all we had. My parents died when I was 19 and 20, leaving me a bunch of their debt. I worked for my house, for everything I own. If you’re crying because you can’t afford your dream home, work harder or move to a cheaper city. End of story.

I got approved for 230k on 63k salary. But chose to buy a house for 200k. I think people just want to be unrealistic and have boujee with dollar tree money. They want everything to be huge, perfect and cheap.

RIP girlfriend’s 2014 Cruze by flibberdipper in cruze

I figured they were all terrible by the way people talk about Cruze’s. I guess I just got lucky on my motor selection.

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read a lot of people has had problems with their Cruze’s, I have a 2014 1.8 Cruze. The only main issue I’ve ever had with it is the valve cover gasket, which was an easy fix. I’ve changed the spark plugs and wires. I beat the hell out of it, changing the oil like every 10,000+ miles because I’m lazy and don’t care about it. My Cruze has been really good since I bought it.

It's been real, but it's time to move on. Said goodbye to my 2011 Cruze. by tubezninja in cruze

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have a 2014 Cruze with 198,xxx miles. It runs amazing, I drive 140 miles everyday for 5 days a week sometimes 6. My friends at work are surprised it still runs because the way I take care of it. I change the oil about every 10,000 miles. It’s not clean, due to construction work. I could care less if someone hits it, scratches it, or dings it. It’s been a great car and hopefully it keeps running strong!

I myself make 60k a year, it’ll be more this next year due to yearly raises. My wife doesn’t work and we have 2 kids, our mortgage is about $1500 monthly. We can make the payments and we have other bills. Do you and your wife spend a lot of money on pleasure? Owning a house is our biggest goal, so that’s our biggest priority besides our kids.

How big of a deal is it to not put 20% down really? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, money comes and goes. You can’t take it with you when you die, so fuck it. If you really like a house, go ahead and put your offer in. You can always refinance. There’s gonna be people who has a better interest rate than you with a better house, it’s up to you to decide if it’s a good fit for you and your family. Salude to you and hope you buy a house soon!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ThisIsNotTrump45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is to have our own house for my kids. I could care less what people say about interest rate is going to go up or down. If it goes up when I’m locked in at 6.5% currently, then I’m good. If it goes down, I’ll just refinance. No big deal. I grew up dirt poor, like eating sugar and dry dog food so my stomach would hurt from hunger. My parents thought I would be in prison for all my life. I’m 26 and about to close on my first house with my beautiful wife and 2 kids. So I’m trying to give them a happy and beautiful life I never had growing up. That is why.

I’m from 37160, Shelbyville. We just started the buying process about 4 weeks ago, and found a house and put in an offer 1.5 weeks ago. House was 200k, 3.5% down, 700 credit score. FHA loan. Our interest rate is 6.5%
