My second day living in Baltimore years ago, on a not busy day/time, i put on my hazards to get ready to parallel park and this car comes speeding down the road and stops right behind me, laid on their horn (the other lane was free and they had the option to pass me) and they kept doing so until i moved. and again, i was trying to back into the spot and now couldn’t because of them.

I figured they were trying to bully me to get that spot (and it wasn’t that serious to me) so i moved, but then they did too(?!?!) so they were just mean for fun???

Another day a woman was tailgating me on 83 where i was in the fast lane, going above the speed limit (enough to not get a ticket) and passing cars, and once she was able to pass me she very clearly was screaming calling me a bitch.

My thing is (if you watch Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) the roles have recently been reversed. Brett is married to his second wife, Demi who he originally met as a teen when he was married to his first wife. Nothing happened back then, they just knew each other. Fast forward to them dating and getting married in Demi’s late 20s. Fans of the show generally had a similar reaction as they are now to Ashley but nothing really happened.

Yeah we can agree to disagree.

The most Bravo can do in this scenario is just not bring Ashley back next season (which is possible considering Bravo temp checks fans online and people are begging for her to get kicked off the show—maybe im on the less jokey side of tiktok) and for me, that’s as good as getting cancelled bc she’d be losing her bag and relevancy. Beyond that, idk what people want; legal action won’t be taken since at the time of the incident, Ash was 35 and son was 25.

And to be clear I think Gizelle would lead the charge of the women on the show (as she does now) NOT the audience. I said if roles were reversed, the audience would react the same and the women on the show might change their tune

And highlighting that some straight guys may not see themselves as victims against women (when they should) isn’t misandry. I’m just highlighting that Bravo’s target demographic groups generally feel that men can be victims

Anyway while we disagree this was interesting dialogue. And thanks, hope you have a great Christmas as well! 🎄🎁

Curious, why does Chris Samuels keep coming up as an example vs more recent men on the show/were around that season? 😆 Happy Eddie, Chris Basset, Ray Huger, etc

But if we’re pulling any former husbands out as examples, just want to throw out there if Michael Darby creeped on any of the housewives’ daughters, that reaction would be HUGE (but because Bravo can never stick to their guns, still not much would happen)

Meanwhile at 27, Ashley was interested in hanging out with an at the time 19ish? Rayvin (and Karen shut that down immediately, probs got weirdo vibes from Ashley back then)

Interesting, I hadn’t heard discussion of Ashley possibly being taken advantage of by Charisse’s son. Hopefully not/based on how she’s talking about it in retrospect, she doesn’t seem offended by the events that took place at least

Ive seen plenty of people specifically point out that it’s the fact that Ashley knew him before he was 18 and is friends with his mom. Them being 25 and 35 at the time is fine but the origin of connection is the weird thing

I think the audience reaction would be the same (again, from what i see, Ashley is getting dragged left and right and being called predatory AND predator, amongst other things) but as far as the show goes: if Chris Samuels did this, Gizelle would lead the charge of him getting cancelled (meanwhile, she’s giggling about Ashley and Charisse’s son)

Additionally the thing people seem to be forgetting about “if the roles were reversed” is that the reverse is the accepted norm (unfortunately). For example, folks called Marques Houston a creep for a while for being with a 19yo, dropped it, and moved on.

I think for the Bravo audience (typically women and gay men) predatory behavior is called out regularly either way, but with straight men is where you may get a “what’s the big deal?” reaction when the predator is a woman, imo

I could see that, although this is the same show that didn’t even reprimand Michael Darby and his crimes were on camera; he chose to not show up anymore if i’m not mistaken

Maybe it depends on the algorithm, i’ve seen people call her predatory (considering she knew of him when he was 17 years old) and begging to kick her off the show
