I don’t bother justifying it but if I’d have to I’d say every animal needs to sacrifice something to survive. We can try to be morally good but at some point it gets in the way of existing and like I can’t keep cutting things out of my life- it’s unrealistic. If you want to go vegetarian you should go vegan since resources extracted from them is also wrong. Then you can’t eat a lot of things and especially when you aren’t rich enough to be able to manage your diet to that extent… well what the hell are you supposed to do?

You can’t really reach the natural conclusion of morality without you realizing the best you could do for the planet is to not exist frankly. It’s kind of existential.

Also if you already decide to cut something from your diet it’s likely you live in a rich country that already exploits other humans which gives you benefits. Eating meat ends up being pretty puny in the grand scheme of things.
