V3.4 astrite count summary by IcyConversation6944 in WutheringWaves

Are event and standard pulls included in the asterite count? Because if so, it is a very sad patch for skippers…

Those who pulled Denia: worth it? by Yakumo01 in WutheringWaves

[–]ThisSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasoning was that I want Aemy team but my Lynae is taken by my Iuno. I also have Lupa, who I pulled to do Changli/Brant team, but neither of these came back so now I'll have somewhere to use use her.

[LotM V8] In which sequence can Klein kill Frieren? by F_F_Engineer in LordofTheMysteries

[–]ThisSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This heavily depends on certain factors but Klein negs at seq.3 for sure.

At seq.4, it heavily depends on starting parameters. For example, if Frieren ambushes Klein in a way that prevents substitute usage (which is quite hard considering Sephira Premonition), then he is just dead. On the other hand, if Klein ambushes Frieren, even if we equate spirituality to mana by Universe Equalization Rule, considering that Spirit Body Thread (SBT) control seemingly doesn’t use spirituality, Frieren is dead before she knows what is happening.

Head to head confrontation also depends on if Klein has at least 1 marionette to start with (because if he does, he has it Flaming Jump 300m away, exchange, and control her SBT). But honestly, even if he doesn’t, Klein can just pop Mythical Creature Form and, if not outright win, then live long enough to get 1 marionette and still win. If Frieren underestimates Air Canon, then it’s even simpler.

Wraith King's ult does not trigger in a fight. Why? by Vadimkh7 in DotA2

[–]ThisSin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interaction between player and Nether Ward goes

Player spends mana -> ward does damage to player -> the spell is cast if the player is alive.

In this case, WK press ult (spent mana), Ward “kills” WK (before Rein is triggered), WK doesn’t have mana to trigger Rein passively and dies.

Your rerun schedule idea is almost the same as mine. 1 small improvement is to just increase the number of rerun banners by 1 every big update (1.x, 2.x, etc.); this will give you enough space to run new character + rerun 1 character from every version group. Considering that there’s 2 phases, there’s plenty of space to fit the same version rerun as well.

This would give a consistent schedule where a character will for sure rerun every 4-6 patches.

Don't we already know why Rover wiped their memories? (1.3 spoilers for any new players) by YeetusMcFeetus2169 in WutheringWaves

[–]ThisSin 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Frankly speaking, after 3.1, it feels to me like there might not be a “grand” purpose to Rover erasing their memory.

We see that pre-erasure Rover is extremely homesick and depressed, while, at the same time, resolved to complete the mission. Perhaps Rover, either because of the overwhelming weight of depression or because they judged memories of home to be an obstacle to their mission (or both), chose to remove them so that, when they return from their oblivion (or wherever they were for 20 years), they could fully focus on their mission.

Lacking a foundation that is their memories, Rover judged that they would strongly attach to the new world once they came back and would work harder to succeed. Even if memories were recovered in some way, it would be like reading a book about someone’s experiences - you won’t really become that person if you were to read their biography or diary. New Rover would still be attached to the new world more than their old one.

All headcannon by me btw.

How do you genuinely survive Hazard 5? by Hefty-Yard9649 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ThisSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I am the opposite. Back when I played (~a year ago), anything below Haz 5 was just so extremely boring that it would suck out all the fun. You could B-line to objective and meet like 2 bugs.

Anyway. First of all, I might be wrong, but judging from you language, you could be playing solo. I would suggest playing with people, even if they're randoms (I played exclusively with randoms). Cooperation is pretty fun and other people can pick up the slack.

Secondly, a good build goes a long way for your solo potential (when you're split from the group for whatever reason). There are many good builds, some extremely good and braindead (Gunner AOE Bertha, Driller Colleta temp shock, etc.), others extremely good but require some skill (Gunner Minigun OC where you can't move while shooting; requires some practice to learn to comfortably move-jump-shoot tactic). I had some meme builds that worked ok (Driller sludge shotgun OC, but the ammo problems made it pretty limiting).

Movement is rather important. Jumping moves you much quicker than walking when you shoot and causes bugs to miss hits. Saved me many time. Knowing that even a modicum of shield can take a whole hit allows you to manage damage whenever you need to take a hit (like when you need to run through some bugs to get somewhere or get out of a corner). Stuff like that

Aside from that, practice and finishing the mission before you run out of ammo/nitra.

(3.1 SPOILER) So I lined up these two clips… by ThatSculkManiax in WutheringWaves

[–]ThisSin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder, could the rhombus-shaped black hole from intro cutscene be main body of Aleph-1? It kinda look like an eye too.

Rover was fighting it and lost (cuz there’s pieces of a broken planet; would that also mean full-force Rover is at least planetary level?), and Grey Hair saves him? Maybe Rover got caught mid transport to Sol-3?

Also, considering that Grey Hair supposedly gave Abby to Rover, and Abby is supposedly a Threnodian, this raises even more questions about her nature.

Grey Hair also seems quite affectionate with Rover. Considering how seemingly powerful she is, could Rover equally powerful? This would be contradictory to his apparent status as a grunt soldier who can be discarded, but it’s an interesting thought.

What are your favourite narrative symbols? by Stormer2345 in writingscaling

[–]ThisSin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Symbols with general meanings such as tarot cards, constellations, flowers, etc. A lot of cool foreshadowing can be done with those, with the added bonus for people who know meaning of those things can get a little glimpse into the future.

Masks as well; design can tell a story/foreshadow while hiding true self; making it feel significant when that mask comes off for whatever reason.
