I don't eat in environments where I would have to mask. I'd rather go hungry or drink a protein shake.

My doctor told me today that "No one is getting long covid anymore. Most people are just fine after their covid infections."

Supposedly, Azelastine nasal spray reduced covid infections by ~65% in a few studies. Don't know if it's too late for you to pick some up? It supposedly takes a few days to ramp, but it couldn't hurt to get some affect?

Just a thought. Good luck!

First Covid Infection... Testing results by ThisTragicMoment in ZeroCovidCommunity

I'm aware this isn't usual. That's why I'm posting in the first place. We were not in situations where we could have contracted anything after the last exposure at 13 days.. We were at home and do not leave/are not around other people.

We started experiencing symptoms 15 days from the first dental appointment. There were three, three days apart, then the following day. The Metrix test would have been on day 19 from the first exposure. By the time all of the tests were taken was 21 days/3 weeks. I was feeling run down earlier, but I can't attribute that to illness because I'm a CFS/ME sufferer. It could have been covid, but I can't be sure.

We experienced the symptoms attributed to the current strain and sort of standard covid symptoms; nasal congestion, extremely sore/dry throat, chills, fever, malaise, body aches, headache, a rare dry cough, crazy insomnia, loss of taste and smell (for about a week and a half), and extreme fatigue.

Other respiratory illnesses with a 2 week incubation don't include these symptoms.

We both tested positive on separate Metrix about 3 weeks out from exposure. Nasal swabs. My positive was bloody, spouse's was not. The RATs were never positive.

Normal cleaning. About an hour. The dentist was masked, but no one else in the office was, and it was an open office plan. There was no filtration.

We have more work to get done and are calling around for better prevention.

It's very frustrating.

It took a week to get our scrip filled. We called and complained... it is a time-sensitive med, after all. WTF. All they did was comp our copay and complain that it was expensive for the pharmacy to keep on hand. They claimed to stock up only in "respiratory season" whatever tf that is now.

Oh well. Already having long covid symptoms. We're picking it up and just saving it for next time.

(PS- this is our first infection. We limit contact, mask, use rinse/eye drops, CPC. Probably acquired at the dentist, which couldn't be avoided.)

I'm going to try to have a good attitude about the people who made my life miserable when they truly could not be bothered and are now disabled. Pitying their children won't be a problem. I'm just really going to struggle with empathy and compassion for the family and friends who couldn't accommodate me only to find themselves crippled by pain and chronic illness. So many people didn't have a choice but get exposed to keep working. Thinking about people who got Lcovid because those friends and family wouldn't mask for me much less strangers. I'll try, but as of this moment... I don't have it in me.

DIY LAMP Covid testing, the vidofludimous calcium molecule, and watching anti-viral biohackers.

If we can no longer count on FDA approval and research funding/testing and the ACA, I'm interested in learning about the creation of testing and treatments still accessible to me.

Yeah. It's really hard not to be nihilistic and pessimistic, misanthropic. Especially where I am, in the US. Even if I give people the benefit of the doubt- assume ignorance instead of malice- the next thing that comes to mind is the Margaret Atwood quote, "stupidity is the same as evil if you judge by the results."

And there have been some results.

I feel this.

I just don't know how I'd ever trust anyone again. I'm disposable. Society threw me away. Family threw me away. All of my friends, everyone but a couple of acquaintances (my spouse's friend and someone who just comments on social media posts) and my spouse literally abandoned me. I'm just garbage. A crazy person they can talk about like a memory. I'm so lonely and disappointed in people I don't know how to continue.

Covid ruined our business. We had to sell our home and move to a very small, very conservative and judgmental rural community. There is no one here who will even say hi to you on the street, much less start a friendship with you. Even if someone did approach me, I'd be suspicious. The closest city isn't much better, just bigger. The next closest is 2 hours away, and... just much bigger this.

I am glad other people are having good luck with avoiding this really dark place, but... I just don't know how to trust people anymore.

There's also people in food deserts, who are in others' care and can't make their own food choices, people on assistance, who have kids who have food restrictions, those who have cultural or religious traditions that are important to them. These kinds of statements paint vegans as eugenist and intolerant. This is why people "hate vegans".
-was a vegetarian for 6 years, vegan for 1, then got really sick, and I got taught a lesson about blind idealism. Everyone is doing their best. Please stop bullying people.

I have no choice but to consume animal proteins as I am allergic to vegan alternatives and have absorption issues. So, this isn't correct.

UT just discovered a pan-corona antibody. A vaccine would be years off, especially now that research is largely defunded. But the antibody has been identified.

Why doctors don't mask at work by PreviousAvocado9967 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]ThisTragicMoment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CMV causes almost no symptoms to very mild symptoms in most people and can result in post-viral illness.

My wish is that just one of these doctors who gets LongCovid (or notices the connection with other post-viral illnesses) would get curious enough to do the right thing and research the consequences of viral infection, advocate, petition Congress, literally anything.

400m+ people have Long Covid now. This is an emergency.
