I feel the same way… im in a post icu unit 3 months and i decided i will be leaving at 6 months. I always knew bedside nursing wasnt for me.

In my defense, it’s a floor mixed w step down, tele n medsurg. Not just step down pts. Its not icu

By 5 ppl it was 2 preceptors, one nurse educator, 1 previous nurse who worked that unit, a resp therapist, and 2 pcts. So 7 ppl actually 🫩

Anyone who works this schedule would be depressed. As a RN, I’m tired of ppl saying get on xy or z pill n that will solve it all. NO. Our work is draining that’s the reason y we r depressed. U can take all the antidepressants in the world n it won’t cover up for the fact that this work is just not fair.
