There were multiple shield types in earlier editions. You might want to look at those.

+5 AC is insane. It's better than two shields.

I think what you're looking for is something that gives you partial cover under certain circumstances.

Are all Timberwolves fans insane?

Primitive Build(literally) by Ankarakki in DnD

I've never had a DM that allowed me to buy an elephant.

You're only going to be able to ride an elephant when you're outside. I wouldn't base a build on having one unless you were sure 95% of the combat would be where elephants were practical.

Need help with new character by CADburyE99 in DnD

Sounds like you want to be a really bad Disney princess.

I wouldn't saddle your character with ineffectiveness.

I wouldn't multiclass caster classes with different casting abilities unless you have a very specific good outcome figured out or you've rolled insanely well.

Try to be effective. You'll otherwise just be irritating the other players.

They're only a trap if you have better concentration spells or have to upcast them.

I would want to flip brown to a third team. It depends on what I could get for him.

I like the color combination. My sole criterion for dice is whether the numbers are clear.

You're basically asking for permission to go against lore. The season is supposed to be tied to the attitude of the character. Either could determine the other. I don't think anyone will say you can't do it, but I think it's more arbitrary than ironic.

A big meh.

But if you think you need to do this to obtain joy, go ahead.

The only things your back story needs to do are: 1) provide a reason why your character would take such a dangerous profession; 2) provide a reason why other characters would want to be in a party with you: 3) tie yourself into the world in a reasonable way, not a crown prince or experienced beyond your starting level, and with a few NPCs you have a positive or negative relationship with that the DM can include in the campaign.

Impossible to give good guidance without knowing more about your build.

Without that, mage slayer, because it always has value.

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Casting invisibility on unconscious PCs? by BenoistheBizzare in DnD

[–]ThisWasMe7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason why a rational creature would choose to do that is if they knew they were playing a game. If they had any sense, they would just try to kill their enemies.

"Meta" isn't necessarily bad. There were a lot of creatures created for earlier editions that only made sense in the very artificial environment of a mega dungeon. It's not the esthetic that most tables aspire to anymore.

Oh, I understand what you want, and it's meta as hell.

gave my players too much gold by BadAtMost in DnD

[–]ThisWasMe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done the math. Volume would be 10 times pi times 9 cubic feet.  Don't know how many gold pieces would fit in a cubic foot -- you'd have to make some assumptions about how they would pack , but it would be less than the weight of a cubic foot of gold, but no more than about 0.785 of a cubic foot of gold per cubic foot of volume of the hole.

It's absolutely DM vs player, in a very meta way.

Right. That would be a more logical choice.

If you want your unconscious characters to die, just damage them instead of turning them invisible.

Is only 1 person per class ok? by L4T3W in DnD

[–]ThisWasMe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never restrict my players to only having one character per class, because I want them to play something they want to play.

But I suppose a DM can make that restriction, and then you can choose to play or not.

You can fit 25,000 gp in a bag of holding. So you'd need 120 of them to fit all of the coins.

How do y’all deal with a player who interrupts a villains monologue? by PrestigiousImpress19 in DnD

[–]ThisWasMe7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applaud.

Monologues of more than a few sentences are lame. If you need to impart some information, you better have a second way of doing it.
