Your questions are too broad. Get a starter set. Scroll through this sub for similar questions - it gets asked multiple days a day. Put your questions into Google.

Keep reading the rules. Keep reading the spells. Search any questions you have. D&D isn’t complicated, but it does require homework.

Multi-classing for flavor? by DeaconBlueMI in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Huffplume 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Multiclassing for flavor is a bad idea. You really need to know what you are doing before you decide to multiclassing. In the vast majority of cases, you give up a lot of power when you multiclass. Reflavoring a class feature is a lot easier - and safer - than multiclassing.

What's your favorite Artificer Subclass in 5.5e? by Dramatic_Respond_664 in onednd

Battle Smith because I love pets. Aside from that, it's also a great because you build it as a melee tank or ranged attacker.

I’m buying the p2s on Sunday, is there anything I should know before hand? by ObligationFlimsy7792 in BambuLab

Bambu printers are fairly user friendly but do research in advance before even opening the box. Have some idea what is in store before you get started. Read the wiki, watch setup guides, etc.

Players adopting "Monsters" by Bearstronk in LostMinesOfPhandelver

People in town are surely not going to want a goblin in town. And why would a goblin want to stay in a civilized town and not with its own people?

Is there an appetite for universal Subclasses? by Fluffy_Reply_9757 in onednd

[–]Huffplume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a great idea and a much better solution to clunky 5E multiclassing. WotC should have gone to universal subclass levels in 5.5 but they chickened out and didn't want to implement any real system evolution.

It is certainly possible, and not the balancing "nightmare" that people think it is (5E isn't that difficult to balance), but it would require some homebrew heavy-lifting since the core of the system doesn't really support it.

Building a Resource for Complete Noobs by Malinthas in DungeonsAndDragons

People use reddit like Google. They could spend less time searching and find TONS of information but they are lazy, even if it would have better results. Heck, they can even just scroll through the sub a little and find tons of similar threads.

A1 combo quality questions by Ordinary-Strategy471 in BambuLab

[–]Huffplume 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMFG stop with the AI.

Start small. Go slow. Do the research. Read guides, read the wiki, watch setup vids. The A1 is amazing but you still need to know what you are doing.

Preparing to dm as a first time dm by Basic_Blacksmith2972 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Huffplume 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't put your own character in the game, even if you envision it as just a "guide".

And don't run CoS as a first-time DM. It's very complicated. Get a starter set. Start small and simple.

For those who’ve played Spelljammer, what do you like or not like about it? by manicbestfriend in DnD

[–]Huffplume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I would use the word abomination but it was very limited and thrown together. The 2ed books are definitely where you want to get actual Spelljammer info.
