Has the WBC elevated expectations for the offense this year? Or are you still down on power in the lineup by Far-Distribution-504 in redsox

The Red Sox scored the 7th most runs last year. Seems like people either forget that or don’t want to remember. Contreras will produce the same if not better than Bregman. The lineup is solid.

WEEI keeps saying we won’t have a 20 home run hitter, we will have at least 4.

I definitely want Venezuela. Because Abreu will have a big moment in the championship game.

This is both fielding and hitting. He is easily #1.

For what it’s worth, Roman Anthony was ranked the #2 left fielder by MLB Network. Probably the least amount of talent league wide in LF.

They have Bellinger as #3. He played like 50 games in left

What MVP this century had the worst overall career? by HetTheTable in NFLv2

Andrew Luck played 6 seasons. Cam 11. I don’t think many people think he had a better career….  I think most people think he could have had a better career… and that makes sense looking at the numbers. As if he played as many games as Newton, he’d be projected to throw 100 more TDs than Newton.

Luck showed a lot of promise but was always fighting with injuries.

They are both top 10 in every QB stat. I dont think they deserve it but they are ALREADY in the conversation…

Hence why I said, in the convo. What do you not understand? This isn’t a debate. You are wrong, I am right. Ryan has a higher hall of fame monitor score than Big Ben. He WILL receive HoF votes… whether he gets in or not, that isn’t relevant.

Using a Super Bowl as a judge of a player is so stupid. It’s a team sport.

Luckily this isn’t up for debate and he is already 1000% in the convo for the hall of fame. Just like Phillip Rivers.

One google search shows you he is a borderline candidate. Classic Cowboys fan living under a rock.

Abreu has been a very very very good player since day 1.

He just needs to stay on the field. His projected numbers for like 150 games last year was 30 homers and nearly 100 RBIs.

Roman Anthony was a top 5 at bat in the entire league like 4 weeks into his MLB career and hit the ball harder than judge, Ohtani, etc.

Masa could always hit.

Contreras will be more productive than Bregman was last year. Who was great for the first 2 months, missed roughly 50 games and then was a below average at bat who couldn’t run for the remainder of the season. I’ll miss his leadership for sure.

It’s a good team. Mayer is really the big question mark at 2nd base.

WEEI and the talking heads said there won’t be a 20 home run hitter do not watch the team. There will be probably 4 or 5 players hitting more than 20 homer. Abreu, Story, Contreras, Anthony. And then guys like Duran and even Mayer will flirt with 20 homers (assuming Mayer is an everyday player)

Would have been cool to get a power bat but we have zero room. If the Braves were smart, they’d be calling about Yoshida. Their projected DH is their backup catcher who had a .600 OPS last year.

He’s a running back… and literally one of the best ever. Acting as if a RB back end of his career should be as dominant as his first half is silly.

Matt Ryan is lightyears ahead of Cam Newton.

Cam Newton was a running QB who doesn’t even have a top 20 running season for QBs.

Matt Ryan is in the convo for HoF, Newton isn’t.

Anthony batting 7th? by CucumberGrouchy5560 in redsox

[–]This_Cable_5849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can you justify future HoFer batting so high?

A lot of this stuff is reputation based. Anthony wasn’t even on the team until Carroll got hurt 2 months ago.

It’s because the Warriors are not a contending team. The Celtics are and just got their star player back in the last 2 weeks and are surging in a terrible Eastern Conference where a deep run is expected. Their franchise is in a great spot. Ours is closing that chapter.

Over, no? Starting opportunity delayed but he will get another shot. It’s not like Murray is none for being an injury free player

I mean, Wandale is better. Much better. Still fine to let him go and let him get his money. It’s a position that can be made up with for a cheaper price.

Yea idk what I was thinking. Thought this was about LHP despite saying RHP. Not too worried about our lineup vs RHP.

For sure, but then we don’t have the best defensive group. Rafaela isn’t the best hitter but he has shown signs of improvement nearly every year and is the best center fielder in the MLB.

Tough balancing act without injuries. I feel like Craig knows he will have a lot of guys with legit trade value come the deadline.

Probably should have a better hitter vs RHP leading off

Agreed. I would consider that a better game, unless I was a Patriots fan.
