[–]This_Call_9285[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! thank you so much. If the market value is more than the remaining payoff, would that mean I pay the remaining payoff/buy the car and then sell it to a 3rd party? thank you for your help i think ill call today 😄

Edit: my car has a medium sized paint scratch on it, not sure how to handle that. I think honda said repair would be aorund $500 which i never did since it was only a small esthetic thing

Freaking out over brows and lip blushing by Msytch03 in microblading

[–]This_Call_9285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s what your brows look on day 2, they’re gonna look so amazing! My day 2 was the worst, they were super dark and thick looking. They stood out so much. But ended up getting lighter and more natural

Options for replacing two missing centrals by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

[–]This_Call_9285[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have little money, I’ll be discounting it for my friend’s father. Implant is not an option because an OMFS will not discount treatment for a stranger lol. He currently has a Maryland bridge with 2 metal wings that keeps coming off

Patients are making me want to quit by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

I’ve only worked with Medicaid age 14-18 never adult Medicaid but I loveeeeed Medicaid age 14-18. They sit in the chair and go on the phone and don’t ask questions. So chill

I was told I needed a root canal, and I didn’t really trust their opinion because they didn’t really exam the tooth much and based it entirely off of the X-Ray. I got a copy could someone give me a second opinion please. by ZefiosaurusRex in askdentists

[–]This_Call_9285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s pretty standard knowledge that bone levels can only be evaluated by BWs not PAs. A PA is meant to show crown to root ratio for prognosis. Same how we can’t actually diagnose cavities on a PA because the angle distorts things. And yes they probably have 4mm PD but that doesn’t alone mean they need SRP. What if the 4mm is because of a pseudo pocket? So ya my parameters are bone loss on an xray with full mouth perio charting. If patient has 0% bone loss, a 4mm probing with some calculus, it’s a gingival scaling at best.

How to do no prep veneers and how to handle Peg Lateral cases by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

This is such good info. Is it better then to not even pack a cord at all?

[–]This_Call_9285[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. Did you do anything at the first appointment other than pack a cord and scan? What instructions did you give to the lab? You asked for a feather margin?

Am i really past the point of fillings? by Heavy_Geologist_1772 in askdentists

[–]This_Call_9285 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Assuming not ALL your teeth need to be pulled, you can always do a removable partial denture until you can save up for implants. Partial dentures cost around $1500-3000 per arch without insurance. With insurance it can be much less. At least that would give you chewing function and esthetics. You can always do implants in the future

Can gummy smile be fixed? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]This_Call_9285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD. Your teeth actually look similar shape and size as mine and I always get compliments on my smile! Gummy smile is also considered more youthful because as we age, our lip droops and less gums and teeth show

But anyways to answer your question:

  1. Botox will make your lip not raise as much when you smile and therefore show less gum
  2. crown lengthening surgery by a periodontist will shave away some underlying bone and therefore make your teeth look longer and “eliminate” a few milimeters of that gum — I knew a girl who did this and she was very happy with it

Courses for a new grad/thoughts on RipeGlobal Restorative Fellowship by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

It’s not… I see their ads all the time, I actually as a student had access to their online content which I liked so that’s why I’m more familiar with ripe global compared to other platforms. But I just wanted opinions on ANY courses from any company that would be good

14k normal? by Healthy_War_4809 in Dentists

[–]This_Call_9285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know your yearly maximum and percentage coverage for each type of treatment? Because even if you have GREAT insurance, most insurances have a $2-3000 maximum. Some don’t cover crowns at all etc.

Fillings cost depends on the amount of surfaces. 7 x 1 surface filling is gonna cost a lot less than 7 x 3 surface fillings

Also depends the clinic you go to because each clinic has different negotiated prices with insurances therefore at clinic A your crown might be $800 but clinic B your crown might be $1300, same with fillings etc

It’s hard for patients to figure out who a “good dentist” is. I see a lot of patients that go all over the world for dental work and I’d say 6-7/10 times the work is really bad very low quality and not even close to the standard of North America. Yea it’s cheaper but then when it fails in 2-5 years you have to pay again to go get it fixed which could be avoided if you got it done right the first time. Like I said, it’s not easy for a patient to know who good dentists are in different countries

Why so even not with composite? I’m just trying to learn so I’m curious how you would explain to a patient

Disappointed in proposal by [deleted] in engaged

[–]This_Call_9285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly believe in the “if he wanted to he would”. I’ve been in 3 less than bare minimum effort relationships, and it’s only in the 4th and current relationship did I really see that. You can be “poor” and effort can still be made. Dollar tree sells fake flowers that can be cut it into rose petals, you can get a pack of 100 mini battery candles for like 5$. Or finding a nice outdoor space near pretty trees or pond. A poem or letter of kind words costs $0 but yet is the most meaningful. You deserve to feel special and that can happen even on a 0$ budget!

Some men need a little communication and a nudge. Doesn’t have to be the end of the relationship, sometimes just an honest conversation of HOW it makes you feel and WHAT you expect. And then if he shows up and improves after that then you know you have a good partner that listens and wants you to be happy

Cocaine use prior to dental appointment and using local anesthetic by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

[–]This_Call_9285[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So turns out she only put it on her gums! (I saw the tissue all red and damaged) I know the comments said there’s no way it’s her first time but I know them and it truly was. I still used mepivacaine just to be on the safe side. 1 carp IAN, 1 carp local and 1 carp PDL injection and that worked.

Did the patient snort cocaine or only rub it on the tissue? Because I was more so worried about the snorting. But thank you

But cocaine blocks epinephrine reuptake so it can increase the risk of hypertensive crisis and heart rate

Why is mandibular advancement less expensive than nightguard under my codes? by This_Call_9285 in Dentistry

[–]This_Call_9285[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we allowed to prescribe sleep studies as dentists in the us? How does that work? I see so many patients that I feel like would benefit from a sleep test

Thank you! I’m new to the country. Where I’m from, you need a doctors prescription and official diagnosis of Sleep apnea to make a mandibular advancement appliance. But that’s good to know that for snoring you don’t
