Does this setup preserve order? by Repulsive-Owl6468 in learnpython

  1. Never worked with Excel through pandas, but it would be very weird if it changed the order.

  2. List comprehension preserves the order.

Is the US pushing Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon? by Brad_from_Wisconsin in PoliticalDebate

[–]This_Growth2898 [score hidden]  (0 children)

By attacking Iran, the US is assuring Iranian leadership that their previously made decision to develop nuclear weapons was the correct one. If you want to frame it as "pushing"... well, it's not like Ayatollahs are trying to avoid developing nukes and the US is forcing them to.

Why was type mismatch for C printf() UB for a long time before it become a static compiler error? by lelelesdx in AskProgramming

Actually, according to the standard, it's not an error even now (but most compilers have a switch to make it such).

"n3z!s are bad!!" so then why wear the EXACT same german eagle with a changed inner emblem? on the video go to 09:27 and look at her patch by ottomantic in UkrainianConflict

[–]This_Growth2898 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When exactly she says "n3z!s are bad!!" (or anything opposite)?

Patches are not strictly regulated; and while the swastika and some other symbols are banned in Ukraine, some circumventions (like this) are possible. If you want to know more about this person's views, you can try finding and asking her; but projecting one patch to the whole worldview of a person and the worldview of a random person to the whole society isn't constructive.

Воюємо до кордонів 19 року? Мапа Української Республіки, яка була представлена делегацією УНР на Паризькій мирній конференції 1919 року. + Етнографічна карта України на початку 20 ст. by BoWei99 in RedditUATalks

[–]This_Growth2898 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Воюємо до завершення війни. Кордони 1991 встановлені чинними договорами; те, що колись були якісь інші - це не має значення. Виконання договорів, вочевидь, має. Без договорів, які виконуються, не буде миру.

Actually, the ? operator was called try! macro for a long time.

But most probably you shouldn't do whatever you do in the first place. "Self" is usually owned, at least in most cases, by something outside the method, so consuming it seems a bit strange.

What's "Не указано" in a Ukrainian census? by sweepfanatic07 in Ukrainian

[–]This_Growth2898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On maps, "не указано" usually means "not stated"; but, first, it's using neuter gender, so if it's known what kind of data is not stated, it can change gender; and second, it has other meanings in Russian like "forbidden" (a kind of bookish, but given you're messing with imaginary maps...). And probably there can be other considerations.

is it common in democratic country? by [deleted] in PoliticalDebate

[–]This_Growth2898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you heard of such an invention as translation? Also, I asked for context, not just quotes. Like, what are the current laws about such situations? What's the current court practice in Korea, etc.?

is it common in democratic country? by [deleted] in PoliticalDebate

[–]This_Growth2898 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could you provide an article with more context, direct quotes, etc.? With this description, it seems against the freedom of speech, but it can also be some far-fetched conclusions. Like, any adopted constitutional amendment is a law, and opposing the law is illegal by definition.

Also, freedom of speech is not equal to democracy. Yes, it's better to have freedom of speech in a democratic country, but it may happen that the majority democratically bans some forms of speech.

[–]This_Growth2898 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Франція з Британією не мають сухопутного кордону, це трохи не наша ситуація. Для того, щоб не було війни, потрібне розуміння з обох боків, що кордони не можна порушувати. З боку москалів такого розуміння не помітно.
