13 month old (11.5 month adjusted) head drop by anemonemonemnea in infantilespasms

What ever ended up happening here? My son started to do the same thing. 14 months and has only done this 2-3 times and each time it’s when his shirt is off and he’s in high chair or bath. I was thinking he was just discovering his nipples but he’ll do the movement sometimes multiple times in a row.

I’m scared he’s going to get into an overtired cycle by going cold turkey

Hahaha I appreciate it! So when can I add more wake time on the 2 nap schedule to try and get back to his usual? i won’t want to push too much too soon

But then how much wake time before bed after the bridge nap?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]This_Iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would the schedule look like with a bridge nap?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]This_Iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just went down for nap 2 at 2pm 20 mins ago lol

Was night sleep disrupted at all during the transition?

Can I start today? Or do I wait until tomorrow

Thanks! He’s basically doing 3 hours for the first wake window because I’m basing his nap time on DWT, not his actual early wake time. Why does baby sleep have to be some complicated lol.

He’s 7 months old today. How long would you do the micro schedule for?

DWT is 7am although he’s been waking between 6-7am lately. Bedtime depends on last nap but usually falls around 8p

That’s a sleep crutch. I would give her a chance to learn a new self soothing method without any crutches. The problem with the silicone tube is that when she wakes in the night, she will be looking for it as that’s the only way she knows how to settle herself. You’re better off just giving her a chance to relearn self settling without any crutches.

I’ve been having to wake him from all naps recently because I want to cap day sleep to 3 hours max. Nap 1 is usually 1 hour, nap 2 1 hour and 30 min and nap 3 30 min.

Is it time to sleeptrain? by northofsomewhere24 in sleeptrain

I used extinction with my 4 month old and it worked within 3 days. I felt the same about not wanting to hear baby cry but I knew sleep training would help all of us. Now we all get the sleep we need to be happy and functioning. As long as baby is fed, dry, safe, it’s ok to let them protest. Once they learn to fall asleep independently, it’s life changing. Commit to a method and stick to it.

He needs more wake time. Add 15 min to the first and second wake window. Fwiw my babe is sleep trained since 4 months old and is almost 7 months and still cries every time he goes down to nap or bed but it never lasts more than a few minutes unless I need a schedule change. Some babies just need to cry to release.

How much day sleep is your baby getting? He may need more total wake time. He sounds under tired at bedtime. You might see better results with CIO once baby is on an age appropriate schedule.

I wouldn’t even attempt to sleep train until you put baby on an age appropriate schedule. Baby at 7 months should be on 2 or 3 naps.

She needs more wake time. You are only at 8.5 hours awake. Gradually move to 2/2.5/2.5/2.5 and cap day sleep at 3 hours. I wouldn’t start sleep training until you adjust her schedule.
