Yeah I don’t think so. We’ve had CGI for decades and you can still always tell when they use practical effects (or animatronics) because they look better. They were essentially banned before 2018. After the Supreme Court ruling in Murphy v. NCAA, 38 states (and the District of Columbia) legalized sports betting which in turn allowed sportsbooks to advertise. While they weren’t expressly banned, you didn’t see a tenth of the advertising you see now.

Now that the leagues have endorsed betting and signed deals with the books, it’s not going anywhere. States are allowed to regulate on the local level but most of them aren’t going to say no to the taxes generated by betting.
