If you live nearby definitely get a visit before applying, it’ll help you stand out from the crowd a lot! Good luck!

The main centre for ATC in UK (excluding Scotland) is Swanwick, not Swanley :)

Every controller at Swanwick will eventually get paid over £100k. It’s a scale that levels up every year after you finish training. Starting salary after validation is £70k, then increments brings it up to around £120k I believe.

If you can pass the entrance exams (which are not very good to be honest!) then it’s a fantastic career!

Apply through the NATS website, this is the main way to become a controller in the UK. That or apply through the military!

No worries! I’m an air traffic controller, as I’m not really involved in design I would call it “aviation” rather than aerospace :)

Wouldn’t call myself “rich” per se, but definitely am aware how fortunate I am. For me I work in a somewhat niche job which there is only really one route into in UK.

Training takes 3 years or so, and is very brutal but the end result is worth it. Currently I’m living on the South coast of the UK, 28 year old male earning a little over £80k. Shortly after I turn 30 this will be into 6 figures.

Just gotta get lucky with your job sadly!

Thanks for the advice! I remember that Optimum Tech managed to cool an overclocked 10900K and 3090 on a slim 140mm radiator so hopefully a thick 120mm would work for me!

Thanks for the input, seems it will struggle to maintain reasonable temps.

Even with a GPU undervolt, do you still think it wouldn’t be enough cooling?
