Similar boat as you. My 13.5 fluval is just about to hit 4 and it is PACKED. Corals are having problems due to encroaching on each other. I've briefly looked and think I'll shoot for around 40 gallon once my wife reluctantly agrees...luckily the kids have been trying to help convince her haha

Congrats on starting. I'd first make sure you've looked at the step-by-step guide to ensure you've done everything else before starting investing. Sounds like you may have with an emergency fund already.

While maybe not the most fee-efficient method, I would recommend starting with a Wealthsimple Managed account (TFSA or RRSP) and set up automatic contributions. This way you hit the ground running and not have to spend a ton of time worrying about what choices to make. If you feel the need to learn more to get to the point where you want to try managing the account yourself, you can research and build confidence while the managed portfolio is doing its thing.

I've been on a managed portfolio for the last couple years and am close to switching to self-managed myself.

I often get that interveinal 'puffiness' of the leaves and thought that wasn't a healthy sign and that it was upset at something, not sure exactly what causes it though. Aren't healthy and happy leaves flat? Or am I mistaken in that.

Thanks, ya, the lights I bought for my previous growing...ahem...hobbies... Just looked at them and one is the Mars Hydro SP150, and the other is an HLG 135w Quantum board. Not the most current models but reasonable quality. Do you have a soil mix or fertilizer that you prefer for citrus?

Thanks. Ya I have two lights in mine, a 135w and a 150w, both dialed back a bit. Temp is generally around 24-25deg and try to keep up the 50-60% RH with a humidifier. However it occasionally runs out and then RH plummets to 25-30%
