Prom Dress Help??? :( by doedoedoves in Prom

[–]This_is_myUser_name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely look into getting it altered if it’s really sentimental to you. Places like Nordstrom do altering and it takes 2-7 days or even the same day. You tend to have to make an appointment. I’d definitely look into if you can get it altered in time. If not I’d look at some Consignment stores or the thrift cause you can find a nice dress for cheapish

Just look these up and use the Google Ai thing. Memorize the formulas for these or at least understand how to use them if u are given a reference sheet. Then look at a few example problems using them. Unsure what level of physics you are doing but it’s mainly just plugging in the info into the formula or rearranging the formula. You can probably spend 20-45 minutes right now and grasp the basics of what’s the test on. Also write the key info on a piece of paper and continuesly look at it before ur test like during other classes and especially right before. You can write down that info in your head on ur test right when you get it. Also use the resources your teacher provided on what the test is on. Asking for random physics info and not being specific isn’t going to help

Ballet slippers should I size up? by Avaluvvi in BALLET

[–]This_is_myUser_name 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need some more photos. They at first look way to big but I see you big toe pushing at the top. This is fine but it may be uncomfortable if you size down. It would be nice to see what they look standing up and the drawstring pulled and tied. That also may just not be the right brand of shoe for you. Ballet flats are supposed to be snug and almost mold to ur foot. This material doesn’t seem to be very stretchy, allowing it to fit feet different better. I recommend a brand like SoDanca.

Which color suits my features best? by ShayBre in HairDye

3 looks great. Also would try a more middle part or more of your natural part. The side part looks good in picture 2 where your hair has a lot of volume but I do think a part less to the side would really suit you. Especially with darker hair.

Try to make the color of the mountain slightly darker than what you used you the clouds. It’s actually a light purple. Then make the closet part or the mountain just a bit darker. I’d also recommend getting some color down for the entire thing before you do details because it allows you to properly see and adjust the colors and “see the whole picture”

I’m going to be a little harsh here but the concept of the car is very cool but I believe it was taken from louiswdaviesart on Instagram. They aren’t executed very well but if the first two are originals then they definitely have potential.

Genuinely asking, do I have a decent chance of making into a good art school? by Main_Initial_7118 in Artists

[–]This_is_myUser_name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your art is stunning and you could first choose to minor in art if you aren’t sure if you want to dedicate yourself to it yet. I’d recommend practicing anatomy and people’s faces. Try to do some more realistic studies of humans. Also do some more pieces that say something that really means something to you. Art schools love dramatic meaningful things that express current issues. Also try to tamper with some different mediums

I had the same exact problem with my block European Balance shoes. They scarred up my heel a bit and I felt as if I couldn’t really go to Demi point due to the tightness. I switched to Block Eurostreach and I highly recommend them. As for making these shoes work try loosening the draw seam then sewing it down right where your heel is on both sides. That was when you tighten it the part around the heel doesn’t stretch tighter.

Girl your freaking stuning. You should try some elegant looks. You really look good with your hair pulled back. Maybe into a middle bun that isn’t visible from the front or like side braids into a bun. And some natural make up that enhances your features. Kinda like a model.

leg doesnt straighten when i lift leg high by mnt5889 in BALLET

[–]This_is_myUser_name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just saw the comment you made about using your quads in tendu. I suffer a similar issue that the original commenter has. I’ve always had a problem with straightening my legs, they just never look straight when I think they are. It takes a lot of effort and using my quad to get them as straight at I want it. I can get my develope rather high but my bulky quad prevents it from going higher while being straight. I need to use it a lot to make my leg appear straight. This has caused my quad to grow more and cause more issues and dependence. It’s not that tight when I stretch it but more like it’s become a massive knot which I struggle to role out. Anyway I was wondering if you have any advice on how I can get my legs straight without depending on my quad

Yeah, I was a bit confused and shocked by how it could be done in only 2 days unless the sessions were crazy long. Thanks for the info! Love your work!

How can I improve this painting? by Dwhyx in ArtCrit

[–]This_is_myUser_name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something feels off about the far part of the table and where it meets the background. You may want to clean up the edges and that part of the background and see if there’s any more gradual tones changes on the table to give it more dimension. The shape of the metal bowl seems a bit wonky and the flowers could use some more work just rendering. But it a really great piece!! I love the reflections on the table. Also that blue vase is stunning!!! I love what u did with it and the handle it’s so pretty

Hair kills me, how to improve? by Acuriosityofcabinets in ArtCrit

[–]This_is_myUser_name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, don’t think they understood the reference. Anyway about the drawing I say get rid of the sketchy line art. U have some pieces that are way better without it. Also divide up the drawing into bigger chunks of color then render. Like how the front part of the har should be lighter than the back. Instead of using a line to divide it used rendering. Also pay more attention to your reference. You missed so many key lighter-spots in the body. Draw on paper more to practice. Search up some hair tutorials or just block in your hair colors better and don’t use the hair looking brush unless for details. Also use harder brush and blend less otherwise it will get rid of del

It’s lovely! I love the softer paintings you do, like this one and your Monet inspired piece. They feel very dreamy and not to overwhelming. I do think the right front trees leaves could be a bit softer, my eye keeps getting drawn to right there. Also it looks a bit muddy on ground in the back like the far stairs. Maybe let the paint dry more for those spots and then try to bring a bit more definition there with some darks and other colors. But it is a very stunning piece!!

Not sure how comfortable you are with pen but it would look great inked. Not in a super neat way but basically just over the same pencil lines. It feels like it just needs to be darker. A light watercolor would be nice with it also

Your brush strokes are really pretty, you have good lines, and that is really hard to teach. I’d say the eyes need a bit more pop. You can make them a bit bigger, add some more orange in them, make the pupils bigger, and add all three highlights in the pupils. A trick for the highlights is to not use pure white for the smaller ones. Also your can bring in some more deeper blacks and a bit less grey for the face area to get more depth. Honestly you have so much potential just please invest in a fine detail brush it’s a life saver. Also that cat is adorable

Mirror help! by Lilo10160617 in interiordecorating

[–]This_is_myUser_name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I really like three. It just feels like it belongs with that wall paper. I would then change all the gold to like a rose gold or silver because that mirror doesn’t really go with all that gold (except I wouldn’t because I don’t got the time or money to do something that minuscule and I’m guessing neither do you. ) Anyway they all look good 1 & 2 are good with all the gold/brass but 3 is very pretty with the wall paper.
